If you using strictly for badminton the new Blade 3 will get you around the court the quickest. Inspires great confidence with
    its great grip and profile.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. Asics is the all new brand in badminton this year. The last years asics started making lighter shoes and now almost 50 % of them i play with. And i am using the new asics gel beyond whitch i really can recommend to all badminton players ;-)

Hi Mads, you're referring to what saying its wrong? Just wondering...

You're using Asics Gel Beyond eh? Will google into it, coz in this thread there are Gel Squad and Blast being mentioned...

Really interested to get a pair of Asics shoes lately...read somewhere in this forum, buying a pair of good shoes are really worth it...especially for those wanting to reduce any unwanted injury risks...

It seems most of the mention Asics are either Blade 3 or Blast 4 (both are in the Gel line)...or to a certain extent Rocket...

So everyone was wrong 3 YEARS ago, because Asics released a new version of a shoe one year ago[IMG] ? (not even a whole year ago yet)

There already is a thread about Gel Beyond and only this latest version is a lightweight shoe (like you say the orange one but also comes in two more colours). The Yonex F1 is still lighter than this Beyond ...
They are also not new in badminton, the Blade was always listed as their "badminton" shoe in Japan and many players use other models (like Tine B, Joachim Fischer, Line Kjaersfeldt)

I can recommend the Asics Gel Beyond for Badminton aswell, very satisfied with them. Especially the bottom of a shoe (sole?) it is never slippery, maybe they are using an other rubber than Yonex.

I am currently wearing Gel Squad. Good cushioning and not very heavy. Worth the money I paid for.

Tried Gel Tactic also as recommended by shop owner, but I felt less comfortable compared to gel squad and it is kind of heavy. However gel tactic provide very good cushioning which I suppose could better protect your knee and leg from landing after jumps.

To people who own Asics shoes, how do they fit compare to normal casual shoes? Yonex? I'm planning on getting the Gel Beyind (white/blue one) and I want to know what size to order. I'm currently using size 8 for Yonex and my midfoot feels a little tight. Does Asics offer wide model shoes?

I find Asics narrow in general but you being in the US they probably offer some 4E volleyball models alternatively. Not all Yonex are equal either so depends on which particular model you mean ...
Don't know about the Beyond but a few people here have the latest so might give you their opinion (@greblu)?

I'm still using my SHB-80EX that I started out with last year, and now that the shoe is near its end, I was looking to get something new. The Beyond that I saw was on amazon from a British store so I'm not sure about widths...

For me, I find the size similar to yonex sizing. cant really notice any difference in sizing. I'm size 9 Yonex, was given to try out asics size 8.5 but it seems quite tight and size 9 was perfectly ok.

For those who compare about yonex and ASICS shoes
Actually don't compare, cause it's totally different.
1./. Yonex is less cushioning, Landing make my ankle and heel pain
    2./. Yonex isn't lasssssssssssst, I use it for 2 or 2.5 months--> Spolied.
For current ASICS GEL - BLADE 3. i have been using for 4 months already.
3./. 1 review from my friend, one show just bought yonex - Lee chong wei's, less than 1 month, spoiled. He is so unlucky maybe, but with this information i think you also don't want to be the unlucky one.
