Maria Kristin just won the National Championships 2 weeks ago in Surabaya... :D She is still the best WS badminton player INA has... Her footwork looks pretty smooth in Surabaya, hopefully she is 80% healed... :)

Her ranking dropped to #53 or something... after playing only 7 tournaments or so in 2009. If I were the National Team management, I will just send Maria mainly to GP and GP Gold tournaments first. Once her rankings has recovered adequately, then I will send her to SS tournaments combined with GP Gold events... :)

Agree, Maria Kristin should participate bdm touney below SS level...
In tough competition like upcoming All England, she must play qualifying round with her current WR.

I read somewhere in Kompas that 8 of Pelatnas players (mostly from Pratama) will be shown exit door, due to 'lack of improvement'.
Is that news true? If so, who'll gonna be kicked?

8? Mmm, I think around 18 should go out after they accept new Pratama players..... In the end, only 70 total [Utama and Pratama] players should stay... Why 70 because PBSI can only afford to manage [and finance 70 athletes total]...

We can view "Pratama" composition together :

    MS

    Evert Sukamta
    Hermansyah

    Adi Pratama
    Ary Trisnanto
    Nandang Arif Saputro
    Senatria Agus Setia
    Pandu Dewantoro
    Seto Danu
    Siswanto

I think the bolded names, no reason to keep to stay in Pelatnas.
Dark Green colored are still in junior age

    WS

    Rena Suwarno
    Siti Anida

    Bellaetrix Manuputy
    Tieke Arieda
    Maziyah Nadhir
    Hera Desi

The green colored are still young, still any chance to improve.
The Italic names are just so so players and to old for improvement. The other, Bellaetrix was too late for joining to Pelatnas.

    MD

    Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto
    Angga Pratama
    Rian Agung

first choiche to promote to "Utama"

    Kevin Alexander
He is still young, less power. Give he chance more, maybe any chance to be good play maker

    Albert Saputra
    Rizky Yanu
    Hendra Setyo
    Andhika Anhar
They are quiet good but I think too old for improvement

    Erwin Winardi
    Rizki D, M.
    Nur Rofii
    Christopher Rusdianto
So far no "big" performance of these players

    WD :
    Della Destiara
    Dwi A, Suci Rizki
    Tiara Rosalia
    Gebby R
We put hope as future WD players from these players

    Ni Made Claudia
    Wenny Setyawati
Still young, still any chance to improvement

    Ayu Rahmasari
    Dwi A.
They are quiet good but I think too old for improvement

    XD
    Irfan Fadila
    Weni Anggraeni
    Hendra Mulyono

    Luluk Maria
She is quiet good but I think too old for improvement

For my calculation, at least 8 players will out : 4 MS, 4 MD.

I prefer Pelatnas is best place for best players with best coaches too. So Pelatnas with slim number of players is much better, PBSI can focused on big potential players.

    This is my opinion :
    18 Pratama players should be out : 4 MS, 3 WS, 8 MD, 2 WD, 1 XD

Only see their names in Kejurnas. Never (or rarely) sent to int'l tourneys.
Similarly for WS dept. Barely recognize their names. Reason, idem.
How could I rate their performance?
Sigh, no wonder we're lacking in these two. :(

Thanks God you're our fellow Indonesian. If you're our 'very close neighbour' and say that in the 'neighboring players' threads, perhaps you know how the reply will be.:p

When I saw the names who selected in Pratama 2009, 1st in my mind, Why PBSI hires so big number of players this time ?
I have the answer for myself,
Someone in PBSI aimed the players under his Club/Pengda can be selected in here, so the player's quality standard has been pulled down so low.

I have watched some of Pratama players a long time ago even when they were still U-16. Most of them aren't the best of their age. In some local tournament they often lost to club's younger/junior players.

If you don't believe me, let we see, how far they will go ?

I will comment on MD and XD only ;)

Yes, no doubt, Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto, Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputra should be promoted to Pelatnas 2nd Team at least.

Maybe add Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan and 1 more pair from Seleknas - either Didit Juang Indrianto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto or Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Wahyu Nayaka. These 3 pairs should not be wasting their time in Pratama anymore

As for the other MD pairs currently in Pratama, one solution will be to return them back to their clubs.

Irfan/Weni is the only decent pair out of the Pratama lot we had last year

I thought there's still 1-2 more rounds of matches to be played today?
