mx60 is on the shopping list and I suppose I'll sell the 70. But NOT before I get a second mx80 - for awesome paint job amongst other reasons!
i notice that mx60 feel no different on swing weight with or without string. this racket has good engineering drag resistant.
How long does BG 66 U last on MX 60? How about nanogy 98? I am used to use nanogy 95. It is pretty durable; about 1.5-2 months average life time (with 24-26 lbs). In my country there are two types of BG 66U and Nannogy 98; SP coded and JP coded. JP coded is almost twice the price as the SP coded. Are they the same quality? or because maybe JP coded is imported through unauthorized channel that makes the price very high? Last week I tried zymax 62 on MX 60 at 24-26 lbs, only last 1 and a quarter sets. I miss hit at about 11 oclock, but using barely enough power when blocking net play. Restring again with Li Ning AP 62 on MX 60 at 24-26 lbs, couple of times hitting during warming up, it snap but this time it was a clean shot.
i mean string has lesser wind resistant. so your swing speed increase. for ngy98 it already 2months on my mx60 since i bought. for bg66u, it snap after 2 weeks with my sw37.
I don't understand how people can snap so many strings so often. The 66U on my MX80 has had about 16 hours of court time and is just fine. The ZM62 on my BS11 has about the same, with no signs of snapping. I think if you snap strings after every second game, you need to either seriously look for a new stringer, or stick to durable strings such as the ZM67 or 70.
maklike, I ask my stringer that once. "why some people strings snaps so fast". My stringer said it could be because of the way you are hitting the shuttle. The rib of the feather can be quite sharp. Hence it is doing minute damage (minute cuts) to the string each time, which would weaken the string over the long term. And then one hard smash and the string will snap. This could also explain why the strings with special coating seems to last longer as well. ( ie resistent to these minute cut by the feathers rib)
There a re a number of reasons for string breakage. With the professional players we all all apprecaite they have racquets strung to very high tension. A mis-timed hit generally causes breakage. Having watched the stringers at All Englands, unless someone was prepping the racquets elsewhere, I didn't see anyone change a grommet. Split grommets are also a major cause of string breakage. This is very overlooked and is crucial as a split grommet means the string is resting against the frame. Undue pressure on the string usually causes a clean break. I had a good come to me recently who continually broke strings in his VT70. When I checked the grommets there were so many that had split it was rediculous. Soon solved this issue and he's been fine ever since. Changes in termperature, especially going from one extreme to another can also result in string breakage. Occasionally, the shuttle can cause a break too. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
That zymax 62 and lining ap 62 was strung by the same stringer on relatively new MX 60. I think the gourmets are out of the issues. But you are right Paul, I have never changed my gourmet at all, but still the nanogy 95 has about 2 months average life time. With nanogy 95 usually last almost 2 months average for one racket, I had 3 BS 10 and strung at 24-26. I play about 4 times a week, 3 hours each. And I am an offensive double player, lots of drives and smashes.
I have completed my review of Meteor 60 but have delayed posting it to my blog as I have to finish another review which is partially done and online now. I will be posting my review on 30 April before 2pm UK time. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
