    Hi guys,

I'm looking for a string that has a harder feel than BG 80.
In the past few months I have been trying many different strings and still haven't found any I like more than BG 80.

Here are my feelings about the strings I've tried:
BG 65, BG 65 Ti, BG 80 Power: too soft feeling
BG 66 UM, VS 850: nice feeling but too soft

Is there any string that's similar to BG 80 but has a harder feel? Is BG 85 worth a try? Some say it's a better version of BG 80 with reduced durability.

    Some info:
    Racket: N90 III
    Tension: 29.7 lbs (13.5 kg)
I don't really care much about durability or tension loss as long as I like the feeling.

I haven't tried the string yet, but you might be able to find luck in the Gosen R4X 110 thread. BG80 might be harder but I don't know.

Unless you can find Kevlar badminton string, BG80 and BG85 are as hard as it gets.

IMHO, based on personal experience, in terms of feel the ZM65 is a tad harder than BG80 (if not as hard). In terms of performance, they play at the same level. Their only difference is in their hitting sound, wherein the ZM65's like a whip cracking while the BG80 has this deep metallic "ding".

I have both strings strung on the same rackets at the same tension (currently trying out different strings to address BG66UM's performance issue due to tension loss). I don't have a powerful smash and tend to play a controlled rally/control-type game so I rely heavily on string feel and control to get points.

ZM65 and BG65 harder than BG80? No chance in the least.

I believe if you want harder and crispier than bg80 you have to choose a non yonex string.

You can try RSL TN680 or 660. These are very stiff, you can get the desired feeling by finding the ideal tension.
    Hope it helps.

in my opinion the feel of Li Ning NS 30 is harder than BG 8ß0. Li Ning says it is a high-rigidity string...

How does the string perform apart from the hard feeling?

Sounds very promising, indeed. As long as the feeling and performance are good, I don't care about durability. ;)

NS30 is probably the only string I can break on a regular basis - that's how bad the durability is.

But the feel is like IRON:).

I really didn't like NS30 - largely because I don't like hard strings but it also felt really dull imo. Although it had the solid-feel of BG80, I don't think it was harder as such.

No idea - I can't break BG80 or BG85 at that tension for love nor money.

Where did you get your NS30? It's not available on MBS.
