Panji Akbar lost to Gesstano easily...
hmm... not a good sign... still no improvement...
If it's still like this, i think this year will most likely be his last year in Pelatnas.
There will be a seleknas for MS and WS this year, i think...

There will be a selection trial for 2 out of 4 BS players for AJC. I heard that the ones selected so far are Vito and Wisnu.

Today is public holiday. Managed to watch in the morning, mostly the mixed doubles. This is a match I was waiting to watch and the pelatnas pair are not playing that well. Lukhi was lucky to pair with Ririn and win AJC, I think other boy double players of his age are on par if not better.

Keshya was good. Too bad she is already 23-24 now. Not much chance to play international anymore, I guess.

Well-done as always by the Pelatnas WS players! Out of the 6 players being sent to compete in Sirnas Jakarta, only the top-seed Hera Desi Ana Rachmawati progresses to the QF.

Let's take a look at the fate of those who lost:
Yeni Asmarani - lost in her first match against Ganis Nurrahmadani [2]
Mazziyah Nadhir - lost in her second match against Dinar Dyah Ayustine
Renna Suwarno - lost in her second match against Febby Angguni [3]
Millicent Wiranto - lost in her second match against Hanna Ramadini
Elizabeth Purwaningtyas - lost in her second match against Novalia Agustianti [4]

    Well-done indeed!

In MS, 2 Pelatnas players make it to R16.

    MS R16
Febryan Irvanaldy vs Siswanto - tough to call but Siswanto probably has a good chance to make it to the QF.

Arief Gifar Ramadhan [1] vs Fauzi Adnan [3] - it will be a major breakthrough if Gifar can beat Fauzi.

The Pelatnas MD pairs have done very well so far, with 3 of them reaching the QFs at the expense of Djarum pairs.

Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh beat Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama in 3 tight-sets and confirm their status as a rising pair in Pelatnas. That really bodes well for INA's MD! As for Edi/Arya, they need to really work hard for the AJC & WJC this year.

Ade Yusuf Santoso/Wahyu Nayaka A.P. also continue to perform well this year as they beat the second-seed and more experienced pair of Albert Saputra/Rizky Yanu Kresnyandi, with the scoreline being 22-20 in the rubber-set!

The most surprising result was probably Hardianto/Mohd Rizki Delynugraha's victory over the third-seed Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto, also in 3-sets.

The top-seed Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya has yet to play a single match as they received WOs in R32 and R16.

In WD, Lita Nurlita/Variella Aprilsasi [3] exacted revenge on Melati Daeva Oktaviani/Rosyita Putri Eka Sari. Pelatnas has 2 representatives in the QF. The AJC-bound Shella Devi Aulia/Anggia Shitta Awanda [4] should reach the SF also and will test the top-seed Vita Marissa/Nadya Melati.

This week, it's Deariska Putri Medita/Ririn Amelia who provided the upset yesterday as they beat the second-seed Devi Tika Permatasari/Keshya Nurvita Hanadia. They will test the Jaya Raya pair Dian Fitriani/Aris Budiharti [5] for a place in the last 4.

    Predictions for MD QF
Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya [1]vs Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh - I would like to see the young Pelatnas pair beating Rian/Rendra!
Rangga Yove Rianto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto [4] vs Arianto H./Menarki Sugito - the Djarum pair to advance.

Fernando Kurniawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Hardianto/Mohd Rizki Delynugraha - I think the Djarum pair will have the edge.

Dandi Prabudita/Wifqi Windarto vs Ade Yusuf Santoso/Wahyu Nayaka A.P. - tough to call...I would go with the more experienced Dandi/Wifqi.

A few interesting matches in XD U-19 QF:
Edi Subaktiar/Melati Daeva Oktaviani [1] vs Alfian Sangaji/Clara TW [8] - after the disappointment in MD and WD, Edi/Melati will focus on winning the XD U-19 title. If they win this match, they will face another Djarum pair for a place in the Final.

    BD U-19 R16:
Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma [1] vs Jeka Wiratama/Amal Ori Wibowo - the expected match-up between the top-seed and the Djarum pair.

Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rafiddias Akhdan Nugroho [6] vs Bagus Hariyanto/Firman Ramadhan [12] - 2 WOs so far for Kevin/Rafi. I hope they can win their first-match in Sirnas Jakarta!

Andrio Salmonco/Septian Eka P. vs Hantoro/Arsya Isnanu Ardi Putra [8] - another Jaya Raya vs Djarum clash in BD. Hantoro/Arsya should advance.

Tedi Supriadi/Yantoni Edy Saputra [13] vs R. Eka Fajar Kusuma/Rian Swastedian [2] - another tough clash in the bottom half. The last time they played, the scoreline was 22-20, 18-21, 21-19 to Fajar/Rian. The Jaya Raya pair has a slight edge.

not too sure for this one :D

Rian/Rendra got 1 Bye and 2 WOs,, while Ronald/Selvanus has to played 3 times and all those are rubber games, talk about stamina advantage.

Although I know Rian/Rendra probably have a higher chance of winning, it's my hope that the Pelatnas pair will upset the top-seed :) Judging from the scoreline last week, it's still a possibility.

Both Ronald Alexander/Selvanus Geh and Wahyu Nayaka A.P. have encouraging results this year, since joining the Pelatnas!

    Ronald/Selvanus's record this year (W9 L2):
Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam IC 2012 - QF (lost to Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto, after going through 2 matches in the Qualifying rounds and beating the seeded TPE pair Liang Jui Wei/Liao Kuan Hao).

Pegadaian Walikota Surabaya Cup 2012 - SF (lost to Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya in 2-sets)

Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 - QF so far (after beating senior pairs like Erwin Wihardi/Syarif Syahmie and Trikus Harjanto/Tri Kusuma Wardhana and the junior Djarum pair Edi Subaktiar/Arya Maulana Aldiartama)

    Ade/Wahyu's record this year (W10 L2):
Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam IC 2012 - R16 (lost to Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto in 2 tight-sets, also after going through 3 matches in the Qualifying rounds)

Pegadaian Walikota Surabaya Cup 2012 - RUNNER-UP (lost to Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya in 3 tight-sets; after beating senior pairs like Fernando Kurniawan/Hadi Saputra and Chrisna A.W./Ridho Akbar plus fellow young Djarum pair Rangga Yove Rianto/Seiko Wahyu Kusdianto)

Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012- QF so far

It's also good to see PBSI sending them to compete in the Sirnas Bandung next week! I would also expect to see them at least in Sirnas Surabaya (and maybe Bali?), INA IC & GPG (at least qualifying maybe for the GPG event), and hopefully SIN IS, Bahrain & MAS IC, and Vietnam GP.

By the end of the year, they would have competed in 4 Sirnas tourneys, 1 IS, 3 IC, 1 GP, and 1 GPG - a total of 10 tourneys.

dont forget Kenas/Sigit. they are really unlucky to lose this.

we have so many promising players for MD. with this large talent pool, i just hope there are 3 pairs who can be top pairs !!

    Mutiara is rock !!
Panji Ahmad just beat the 1st seed Vicky Angga from Tangkas !
Meanwhile, Eska Rivan Jaya and M. Shulton are moved to Taruna...
it shows that Mutiara has so much faith on them...
and they are still 15 yo (born 1997) !

    just watched M Sulthon video...
he is a type of power player. he has a very good smash, big smash...
this is his main weapon, glad to see he has a good weapon...
many times, Jo Christie can only see the smash, and cannot return it.

problem is in sulthon's stamina and endurance. once he ran out of gas, he can not make a deadly smash anymore. Jo is quite intelligent, clever player, once sulthon ran out of gas, Jo make sulthon run and run, and then make a simple smash with good placement....

i think, eska rivan jaya is a better talent compare to sulthon, but his smash is not as good as sulthon's....
too bad, he was out of the arena for around 1 year after his former club, Trinox, got bankrupt... cmiiw...

now, he is still leading over reksy megananda... good sign...
