Well, Chicken, Dolphin and any other badminton animal out there you wont be able to google anything about the Wednesday night club yet .. it too new only just had their first social session last week... heck i google it and got my posting today on Badminton Central
Nope not completely correct ... here's the correction The Saturday night session : starts on the 9th January 2010 cost $10 7pm-10pm (Previously 8pm to 10:30pm) at Waverley Christian College Only accept players above B Grade, and NO POM or/and anyone name Carl The Wednesday night session : Starting 13th January 2010 cost $10 7.30pm-10pm at Waverley Christian College Open to all players, beginners whom are partner of players are welcome, and NO POM or/and anyone name Carl
Vien, please don't mislead readers regarding important matters like our club policy. The correct details of the two sessions are : The Saturday night session : cost $10 7pm-10pm at Waverley Christian College Only accept players above C Grade Organiser : Ashley The Wednesday night session : cost $10 7.30pm-10pm at Waverley Christian College Only accept players above C Grade Organiser : Sam
No Social This Saturday Since Ashley hasn't posted it yet ... No social Badminton at Titans this saturday 6 Feb 2010. The College is using the gym so no courts for us ... that and also cause Ashley has a pedicure appointment so social is cancel ...Instead some of us will be heading to Niddrie for the badminton social at the Primary School on Watt Street .. I think someone told me it was 2:30pm till 11pm .. so you'll get plenty of badminton for your buck
Yes it is true, no badminton this Saturday due to the college using the gym. Who is going to Niddrie ? From the emails it seems no one wanted to travel to Airport West.
.. its also true about Ashley having the pedicure and beauty treatment as well I'll tell whom 's going .. all the true badminton people .. like Me, and Tom .. even Shy ..... but more importantly it's who's not going ... Carl A.K.A The POM
Hi All, Can anyone tell me how to define the grading? I can see there are Grade A-C, how do i know which category i'm falling to? BTW, i'm Eugene from Malaysia & potentially migrate to Oz this May. As such, would like to explore more & continue my badminton games as much as possible once i arrived to Melb
1) If you are/were a State/District player, you can ignore the grades. You most likely belong to Open/A grade. 2) If you are/were a school player, you can easily fit into grade A-C. 3) If you only play socially in MAS, best is for you to come in and try out. Don't worry. We don't bite (*does not apply to vienb*). The organizer might suggest you alternative places to play if you don't fit in.
Hi Badfever, Thanks for your valuable information. Now i have better idea how the grading works in Oz, as to Malaysia, we dun have such grading but categorize by age. My level of play now is quite competitive, playing with those Ex-backup player or ex-state players. Used to won a few trophies in company level & open category. Hope that i could join you all after i reach Oz.
hi eugene, the grading system used here wouldn't really mean anything to you if you're playing on level terms with ex-backup players. you'd have to be prepared to travel quite a bit to find a club that's suitable for you though as melbourne's spread out over a huge area. all the best in your migration plans.
Hi Eugene, I sure you will have no trouble fitting in. In fact we have quite a few players from Malaysia at Titans. Let us know when you arrive and I can give you further details (eg, how to get to the venue or if you need a lift).
Excellent ... Eugene, you and me should team up for C double then .. Hope Loke Poh doesnt know who you are
But why would he post in the Titans thread if he doesn't play at Titans ? I bet good money that he has played at Titans a number of times.
thanks for the offer mates! I really do feel welcomed even i haven't depart to Oz. Seriously looking forward to play with you all. Ashley : I will be staying @ hawthorn & potentially i may have a car to travel if the timing is right. May i know how far is the distance? if the venue in Glen waverley then probably i know where is it. i used to went there once for dinner in one of the korean restaurant but heard that it was closing down recently. Vienb : I may not be as good as you think. I am just an ordinary badminton player which knows some basic skills & able to return some shots. Thanks Dolphin, really hope i can depart as soon as possible. Coz my gf is keep nagging me day & night to join her in Melbourne. Now my concern is whether i can manage to secure a job as soon as i reach Melb if not, i may not have sufficient pocket money for my badminton game
