Does anyone own a pair of the Mizuno Wave Lightning RX? Would appreciate your feedback on this model. Thanks.
I've used Mizuno Wave Lightning 7 for 8 months. Overall I'm very satified. especially for the cushioning. Mizuno Wave Lightning RX is improvement version of WL 7. So, I think the quality is still the best

I Just bought a pait on Mizuno Wave Lightning 7. I've always used Yonex shoes (and still do) so it was a bit of a gamble as I was looking for something with more absorbtion and comfort. I'm always on the lookout for what works, not opions based on marketing / salemanship So far based on 3 hours of both singles & doubles play here is my observations on the Mizuno WL7 shoes....just my opinion. -Comfort-> Absolutely the best for comfort. -Weight-> 10.5oz each shoe - wow its like you have nothing on your feet. -Stability -> no problems what-so-ever. I was concerned about this but stability is excellent. -Transitioning -> Excellent, but because of the lightness / shock absorbtion they feel different, but transitions very well. Once you get used to them they are fantastic. Technically, its not a badminton shoe (its classified as an indoor court shoe), but if it gets the job done then I'm all for it. I would still use my Yonex badminton shoes when playing on IBF mats, but on hardwood floors the Mizuno WL7 is superb. IMO too many people fall for the marketing of a product. I guess if something is classified as 'badminton' specific then it 'must' be a good product. I'm an advanced player and I felt the Mizuno WL7 was a valuable tool, but one of many. One thing I did notice that was a bit suprising was how refreshed my legs felt the next morning. I don't have a knee issues but any racket sport will cause some fatigue in the legs, but the Mizuno WL7 is so comfortable & light that it just relieves your legs so you are ready for the next round of intense badminton very quickly. Anyway, just my opinion. Doug
The stability on the WL7 is excellent - very comfortable shoe - superb shock absorption. Currently I am playing with Victor badminton shoes. They are slightly heavier but the grip last a long time and are also very comfortable compared to the other shoe manufacturers (Yonex & Mizuno). If Mizuno and Victor could be mixed together then I think you would have the perfect shoe. I wrote my initial review 2 years ago so things may have changes with regards to shoe models etc.
