Lee Yong Dae / Jung Jae Sung not defending their All-England title in 2009

South Korea served up a surprise for the 2009 All-England in Birmingham from March 3-8 by not listing their men’s doubles defending champions Lee Yong Dae / Jung Jae Sung as a pair for the tournament.

Only the young hotshot Yong Dae will be at Birmingham to play in two events.

He will forge a scratch partnership with Shin Baek Cheol in the men’s doubles and team up with his Beijing Olympic Games gold medalist partner Lee Hyo Jung in the mixed doubles.

It will be a total silly for some one who think this korean pair withdrawal would make way for MAS pair for the chance of AE title this year...

Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan be most likely to win 2009 All-England MD title?

    .
I would say that the pair of Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan would be most likely to win this 2009 All-England Mens Doubles title.

As much I like to believe you, I think you could be wrong. Also, when I think how KKK-TBH are improving, I think you might be wrong. As they say : two wrongs don't make one right.:D So you are wrong ! It is definitely KKK-TBH !

I hope the Malaysians will take full advantage of it. But they have to be careful with the Danes as well.

Without LYD/JJS, will KKK/TBH take full advantage of it?

    .
:D:D:D Hope that I could be wrong.
But as ants said "Will the Malaysians take full advantage of it?".

CY/FHF, now ranked 8th in the world, would still have a chance to win the MD

    .
Yeah, we'll never know ... CY/FHF, now ranked 8th, would still have a chance to win.

Will the fastest shuttlecock smash be increased by another 10 kph?

    .
    Disappoint you???

Don't be surprised that their fastest shuttlecock smash could be increased by another 10 kph at AE 2009.

Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol combination shoudn't be underrated

    .
At the last SS, 2009 Korea Open, Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen defeated Lee Yong Dae/Jung Jae Sung.

However, I believe that this Lee Yong Dae/Shin Baek Cheol combination shouldn't be underrated.

    Aahh..

..there goes narnia's favorite word, again : dominance.;)

But, yeah, barring any injuries to the pairing of Boe & Mogensen, we should see them continue their rise this yr, along with the other formidable MD pairings.

    back to #1

and they should back on top of the world rank again!! since jae sung/yong dae are going to lose at least 9100 points for their absence in AE 2009 to defend their title..... am i correct?

2009 All-England Mens Doubles: Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan would win?

    .
If we are talking about which pair could win the 2009 All-England Mens Doubles, and not their World Rankings, then yes, I believe that Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan would be most likely to win it.

KKK-TBH are improving? i think they're just returning to their top form after a stint of poor form, not really 'improving' as such. results can't really be based on one or two tourneys. although not ruling them out as a likely chance.

I would have to say kido and setiawan would have to be favored. FHF & CY have also had their stint at the top so will probably do well but not make it all the way.

In rally point system on any given day two evenly matched pairs, results can go either way.

Hope to see Lin Dan win the singles this time though if he's playing :)

That'll highly depends on Kido's condition. If his knee hasn't recovered, I'm afraid they'll have slim chances for AE title...
