That will depend on how you look at it. Undeadshot should know the answer himself. I don't want to comment on HH but if a new guy from a country like Spain can beat the world No. 33, we should give credit to him.
Actually, I do agree with you that we should give Abian Pablo (not a new guy actually) credit for defeating Hafiz and Chong Wei Feng. Spain is almost a nobody in badminton and for him to defeat Hafiz, who is actually quite a well-known name in badminton... it is quite a personal achievement. My point was that Hafiz could be beaten by anyone, I believe that MAS backup players can actually beat him but they just 'scared' to beat him because they don't want to take the burden of being the number 2 player...!
Ummm... He will face either Lee Hyun Il or Shon Wan Ho tomorrow. Lee Hyun Il beat him in three at the AE in the Qualification.
I figured that you confused WCH with Yoyo, and since Abian beat Yoyo he would take his place in the draw, which because of the confusion would be Wong Choong Hann's place, so he would indeed have probably faced Jan Ø. Jørgensen if it were so. And now everyone is confused!
Our 2 MS player already lost to a player from Spain.. wow, spain really improve a lot in their badminton men's singles VIVA ESPANA!
http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2011/3/31/sports/8380908&sec=sports Not easy as ABC for Malaysia’s under-strength squad PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will send their second liners but hosts China are fielding a full-strength line-up for the Asian Badminton Championships in Chengdu from April 19-24. On the other hand, the top Malaysian shuttlers like Lee Chong Wei, Wong Mew Choo and the men’s doubles pair of Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong will skip the championships. The challenges in the men’s singles will be carried by Tan Chun Seang, Liew Daren, Chong Wei Feng, Mohd Arif Abdul Latif, Chan Kwong Beng and Goh Soon Huat. The under-performing pair of Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong, who crashed out in the first round of the Swiss Open recently, have been dropped and they are replaced by Lim Khim Wah-Goh Wei Shem. And Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif-Hoon Thien How and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Ong Soon Hock will be looking to spring surprises in the competition, which also sees participation from Indonesia’s Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan and South Korea’s Lee Yong-dae-Jung Jae-sung. Malaysia won the mixed doubles title at the championships in India last year through Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying. But it will be an uphill task for the three Malaysian mixed pairs – Khim Wah-Lim Yin Loo, Thien How-Woon Khe Wei and Fairuzizuan-Vivian Hoo – to retain the title for Malaysia in the presence of the top pairs from China, Thailand, Indonesia and South Korea.
It's wise to send the elite players and hopefully they will gain valuable experience playing against those top players... BOLEH?
it's also wise to send back-up players like iskandar zulkarnain to gain more exposure at a young age just like what china did by sending wang zhengming to this tournament last year at least, we can compare elite n back up player performances...
