No one would stick it to add any weight on the head..u're wrong. It's not a nightmare when u restring ur racket, since u can easily pull them off n stick them on again if the glue is still ok.Otherwise just buy a new one. No one said that u will definitely protected from the scratching.Just minimize the risk. Besides,no one force u to buy this thing. It's the guy who ask for it.Prob u're not the person who's looking for the racket's paint protection from scratching, since u can easily afford a new one(maybe..).But not for us who loves our racket so much n try to protect it. So,it's not ill to try to protect our rackets. If u think it's ill, then prob u should try to contact victor n complains about it.
This tape might be a good idea if you are an habitual "scooper" like me - I'd guess I probably halve the lifetime of my strings by constantly flicking shuttles off the floor.
when restringing, tear it off or just stick your awl through at every hole.. head weight, my sotx ' headguards' where unnoticable, less than 0.5grams
I think you guys need to know, that it might add 1-2 grams to the head weight, thats alot considering most racquets are under 100g. Secondly this tape thing won't protect ur racquet from a clash, so its kinda pointless unless ur nitpicky about having MINUTE scratches...Also when you try to take the tape off, it might pull some paint off >< so i don't see the point in using one of these...I'd rather spray another lair of protective finishing on the scratched spots...
Just interesting to know that Victor actually make this kind of tape..... By the way, the best is probably to use masking tape since it is not too sticky and will not leave glue if you peel it away. But of course, it looks ugly.
Just use some clear nail polish on the high traffic areas... if you want. I don't use anything.... my racquets are for playing, not baby'ing
Hmm.. Adding head weight... exactly what I'm looking for... Anybody know where I can find some? All I can find is Tennis protective tape which is way too wide...
don't use this, that 1-2 grams will be kinda not worth it, considering the fact that you can buy LEAD TAPE!!
Well... if I do get it.. I'd be getting it for it's protective qualities too... But before that... gotta find it online/locally first... I can only find Tennis Protective tape at the moment... Just wonder how the adhesive is... does it get all gooey and sticky? I thought about lead tape... but been hearing a lot about vibration and balance problems...
my rackets already are head-heavy, so I don't know if I want to add any more weight to them. We all know the difference between light and heavy rackets are only a few grams, so this would add a considerable amount of weight. But if I do find these protective tapes locally, I'll definately purchase a few just to try it out for myself. It would be kinda risky to order them online, since I don't know if they're worth it, plus I'd have to pay for the shipment expenses
Rackets are cheap nowadays. When the condition of racket is too bad because of scratches, take it as an excuse to get a new one... Thanks.
hey i got my protective tape from sportslink. its for tennis though, but you can simply trim it to the size you want. hope that helps!
Guy, there is a thing call clear shipping tape. Just cut a long thin strip with same width as your frame.
Using sticky tape as frame protection? Has anyone tried using clear sticky tape to prevent paint chips? If you pull off the tape will the paint also pill off?
