Now, this new INA pairing just needs more experience playing against top CHN pairs. Looks like its gonna be Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei and He Hanbin/Ma Jin for the Asian Games and top European pairs (only 3 pairs that have troubled Nova/Butet so much lately: Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Zieba, Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl and Joachim Fischer-Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen).

Late 2010-Mid 2011 will be the adjustment and testing periods, while the qualifying period between Mid 2011-Mid 2012 will be the real test. They need to win at least a couple of Super Series to further stamp their credentials.

I agree this is perfect timing. 2 years will be a good bonding time and hopefully bring Tantowi/Butet to the top of their game. I'm a little wary about Butet's performance of late though. She's becoming a bit predictable allowing her opponents to move up on her shots. The last few games I watched saw her struggling to find her form while Nova wasn't doing too badly. Maybe I'm just got used to seeing tonnes of unforced errors from Nova. Hopefully the injection of Tantowi will turn that around.

In the CHN XD front, MJ and YY are the two girls to watch out for... HHB has a very hard smash but lacks the finesse to cover for his usual partner YY. I'm not sure where ZB will be in 2 years. Not much from KOR although I suspect we will continue to see LYD/LHY.

Yes 2 years is enough for the 2 players to bond. Just like how Nova and Butet only needed the one year to win WC title (04-05), and another one 2 years later. However, Im not too convinced that Tantowi would be as successful as Nova in the XD field, surely its still too early to judge on his performances, and 2 wins out of 3 finals isnt bad at all. Tantowi's skills and style is totally different from Nova. Tantowi is more like a hard-hitter with speed, while Nova is a 'master-tactician' playing and mixing a lot of different shots. With this in mind, judging from Tantowi's and Butet's performance in Macau final, Butet seemed to have some worries abt her partner at the rear court, sorta like 'how is he doing at the back?' while when she played with nova, she solely concentrated on her net game. perhaps the bond isnt as strong yet, but hopefully it'll get better. :)

Speaking of chinese XD army, i think the pair to watch is the lethal combination of Zhao Yunlei and Zhang Nan. Both very young, and both also very skillful...a very strong potential for 2012 OG!

still unpredictable..as we know KOR is keen to explore and split their pair..
we dont know also if LYD only focussed in MD?
but if he play XD maybe HJE or KMJ were the most favorable to pair with LYD..

..again, the new Tantowi & Natsir partnership is pretty new to the circuit & they might be having a bit of success as other pairs might not be as familiar with them (e.g. their strengths & weaknesses, tendencies)...Let's give them some time to see if they are indeed a "better" pair than Nova & Natsir..

    OH MY GOD.......

they have lead 19-14 in the second set and ONLY NEED 2 POINTS TO WIN THE MATCH..then lost it 19-21...! eventually lost in rubber set..!!!

The same goes when they have reached MATCH POINTS 20-17 against Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei..then lost it as well...!

They so easy lost FOCUS...

No Put High Target for Tontowi / Lilyana

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Mix Double Tontowi Ahmad / Liliyana Natsir are not burdened with high target by coach Richard Mainaky, after their failure at the All England tournament last week.

"Seeing them especially Tontowi appearance at the All England, I do not want to burden a high target first (in Switzerland), because I rate Tontowi still easy to panic so can not control the tempo of the game," says Richard who accompany the players care to compete in Basel, Switzerland, Thursday.

"So I concentration from early rounds to advance to the next round one by one," added Richard after Tontowi / Liliyana, who was seeded fifth, won 21-11, 21-12 over the French double Baptiste Careme / Laura Choinet at the Swiss Open.

The bold part is very true, but applies to almost all of INA players.
Strangely, this kind of panic situation is rarely found on CHN players, or even Koreans. Why?

This is really becoming a chronic problem for this pairing. At least Nova Widianto is seldom affected by this issue during the early years of their partnership.

this pair is promising but they need consistency in their game
the lost against germans pair in AE is the example
