It is unfair to expect THW to go all the way here considering the magnitude of his win last week. But Xue Song certainly is superb, able to last all the way 2 weeks in a row!
I thought the professional badminton players train 6 days a week, and each day about 6-7 hours training. Thus, to play consecutive weeks tournament would not be too hard and exhausting to them. I think mentally, it shows XS is stronger and more focus on task at hand as compared to THW in NZ Open. THW been playing about 6 tournaments, so opponents have more video of his playing style to analyse. Lets see how XS performs in the next few tournaments.

are you sure he is a youth Olympian? because some member here mentioned that china never attend the youth Olympic due to age test? anyway, Japan sure developing a lot in Badminton. 2 singles players in final, not to mention that they are still youngsters, is not bad at all!
Oh yes he took part in Singapore youth Olympics 2010 together with Deng Xuan. If I am not mistaken he lost to Thailand's Pisit in the semi. Pisit went on to win the Gold medal, beating Pranoy of India in the process. The girl's gold went to Thailand too.
Concur with your observation. Not in the same mould as XS or THW when he played as a junior. However young players can be trained and when they work hard enough they can still be very good. Let's see how he fare in his next few tournaments.
Physically,of course,it's not a problem at all but,as undeadshot pointed out,the magnitude of that win is I believe still playing on THW's mind - he got carried away. For Xue Song, who didn't have the fortune of that euphoria (beating LCW) and even missed out on winning the AUS final, his hunger and motivation plus levelheadedness are very much in evidence in this NZ Open. Let's see if he can win his maiden title in only his second attempt at adult int'l tournaments tomorrow.

Just found out that Huang Yuxiang won the MS Asian Junior Badminton C'ship 2010 while Suo Di won the WS.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Junior_Badminton_Championships As for Deng Xuan ,she was the silver medallist in the first Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore 2010, gold went to Sapsiree of Thailand. Anand pawar played pretty well on that day against Tian Houwei who created a stir in Australian open 2013 beating World No.1 Lee chong wei and went on to win the title. Here is the some of the bits which anand said about his win against Tian Houwei,. "I had seen him play in Australia and had made a plan for him and it worked well. It's a fresh tournament so I didn't really think of last week but yes he did have some fantastic results winning the tournament and also beating Lee Chong Wei and many seeded players," "I played more on the net and a lot of flat rallies which he could not handle," Its clearly visible that Anand played well against him.
When Tian Houwe excitedly told his mother that he beat Lee CW, his mother encouraged and reminded him," One match can't prove anything,continue to work hard". That means THW can only say he beat LCW in the SF of the AUS Open 2013, and not that he is better than LCW. Yeah, THW still has a long way to go but age is on his side.
