How old is chen xiaojia? Just wondering why China chose her to play in the singles competition ahead of other more established players.

Sho Sasaki was close. Lin Dan must have been fooling around :)
Anyway I don't believe Lin Dan would lose to other players besides compatriots(for coach's reasons?) or LCW(Only 20% chance or less that he will lose to LCW)
LCW needs confidence and consistency to match LD, which I don't think will happen soon, or even through their whole career.

I was at the game and Lin Dan wasn't playing 100%. Sho Sasaki was probably giving his all, but Lin Dan seemed to be in "rally" mode against Sasaki. Lin Dan did not smash many of Sasaki's weak clears and it looked like Lin Dan took it easy in the second set (despite being down a set) but got lucky when Sasaki smashed it into the net at the end of the second set when the score was 20 to 19. It would have been quite amusing though had Sasaki won the second set as he scored consecutive points to close the gap with Lin Dan.

A few in the crowd in my section even started to boo Lin Dan because they could tell he wasn't giving it his best. Can't blame them because they spent good money to watch the match.

My guess is either the coach told Lin Dan to take it easy and use the match as a warm up match, or Lin Dan decided to take it easy because he has more matches ahead. Personally, I'm not blaming Lin Dan for taking it easy against Sasaki as it's up to the opponent to make it a match for Lin Dan.
