The racket does not have to be flat against the surface of the machine. In most case, it is actually a little higher.

I usually mount the racket a little higher than the surface of the machine with the 12-6 supports and then tighten the side supports that will correct the height themselves. So I'd say the process is ok. If anything, you should try mounting the racket approximately at the height that it is going to be and then tighten the side supports.

I'm a little busy at the moment. So my answer will be short.

Yest. It's properly. This "self centering" construction- "v shape". In contrast to "k shape" pro's pro/eagnas side supports. You can firstly fix 10,2,4 and 8 o'clock position, to center the racquet. Then 6 and 12 o'clock.
In my opinion this construciont (v-shape) is safer for frame of racquets. The force divide on 2 part of frame, like here:

    I just bought a used Gamma Progression II IMAG0892.jpg IMAG0894.jpg .
What do you think about this original holders, do they sufficiently hold a racket?

    Thanks.

I'm using two lenght (about 45mm and 55mm), for all type of stringing machines. ASE is an exception.
Alpha Shuttle Express type (badminton only) requires shorter, about 38mm. The normal lenght is too long. It means the problems with installing and reach.

I should write that I'm not designing this side supports. I'm only listenig carefully the stringing machine users (during badminton stringjobs) and introducing the changes.

    Thank you!
I have never thought of that! I string mostly tennis rackets so i have never even seen the supports in that position!
    I ll try soon.
Do you think that this will be safe for a badminton racket using tension of say 12/12.5 kgs?
    thank you.
