    ti-10's more direct and more maneuvevable. a 3u ti-10 feels like a stiffer 4u mx-70.

easier to generate power with the mx-60 though.

I was advised the 80 pattern made the string bed feel tighter so string a lb lower, which I did. Does the Victor 2 knot pattern make the bed softer? The sweet spot is huge so I'm actually going to string tighter than I did on previous rackets with 4knots. It could be down to larger initial tension loss, probably due to the stringing method but I didn't measure the string frequencies on old string jobs.

Are fleet woven a good clone of these by the way? Can't find much info.

i meant mx-70. just to stress that ti-10 is considerably stiffer than the mx-60.

Of MX60? You should consider the RKEP XP80. Or Fleet T8.

Really? Imo MX70 is stiffer than both. Ti10 is probably in between MX60 and MX70.

The TI-10 felt only a tad stiffer than the MX70. both the rackets i tried were strung with BG-80's.

TI-10 was undeniable stiffer stiffer than the MX60 though.

string fraying in two places. I'm done with thin strings. either vs850 or ZM70 to go in next, around 24lbs i think.

also need to get my spare back pronto!

in other news, LJB smash grip pleases me :)

Thicker strings are usually better strung a bit tighter. I went from 10 to 10,5 (and will be asking for 11 next time). Current string is the 70Pro.

I ordered myself the VS850 and ZM70 as well. Can't wait to try them! If you're looking at thick strings for a great price, the Gosen Pro 70 is also a good alternative (0.70mm, rated as Good+ by Dink), considering it's cheaper than Zymax.

How would the MX60's stiffness compare to the Apacs Tantrum 200 or Lethal 60/70? Hopefully someone can answer this. If the MX60 is considered 3/5 stiffness (Victor's classification), what would the Apacs mentioned above be rated?

Yes. Yes they are! Dare I say better looking? I've now got a 4g heavier equivalent of mx60 with .70 strings for plastics. Which happens to be singles usually too. Perfect.

Now my mx60 can have mp66 again for feathers only. It feels faster whereas the woven ish just a tad too heavy and lacks maneuverability. Question now is so I bump the tension up by 1lb or 2? Probably just the one as I still use the strings bounce to help with net And drop shots.

I had a quick go with vt80. I made the right choice!

My 2 cents on MX60: Can't believe how stiff it is. It almost feels like VT80 in terms of stiffness. Great control and really fast racket. However, definitely lacking in power imo. Just not enough head weight.

yes, it is fairly stiff. I have been known to recommend it when people ask for stiff or mid-stiff rackets. It is certainly more stiff than yonex's 'medium'.

One thing about Victor stiffness index, when they say it's stiff, they really mean it... unlike Yonex.

Hi guys, i recently bought a 4U MX60 and i had a few great games with it. Racket feels really good to play with, i love it! However, while defence has improved considerably (i was getting to the shuttle better when defending smashes), my smashes felt less heavy compared to the 3U VT80 that i was using previously. As such, im considering getting another MX60 in 3U for more power in early games and switching out to the 4U when i start to get tired.

Would like to ask if this would be a good idea. Is anyone here doing this currently? If so, how significant is the difference to your play?

    Thanks in advance!

Of course it feels less head heavy. The MX60's balance point is only about 300mm which is considerably less than the VT80.

Just put a strip of 20mm athletic (non-stretchy, cloth) tape on the top of the head of the MX60 you already have.

No no no no no no no!

The Fleet rackets are made by the same company that makes the Meteors! They're not clones, they come out of the same mould in the same factory.

It's the same company RKEP Eric uses to make his rackets.

Poor choice of words by me then? Sorry :) I did notice that the victor had smoother edges around the T section though, do they sand them down a bit then? I can't remember if the Rkep was smooth or sharper like the fleet.

All the above racquets sold, now I'm into panda revelation and brave swords.

Thanks for the advice! What i meant was that the shot felt like it carried less weight in it, and my opponent could return the smashes better, i.e. return closer to baseline. The idea of the tape is interesting though, might try it. What difference does it make between making the head heavier and using a heavier racket (3U), in terms of power? I assume that i also sacrifice less speed with the first option?
