But I thought Mr. Ical may be nominated as PBSI chairman as well?
I think he should try his luck. He's the wealthiest man in SE Asia, after all.:p

And Mr. Kaban too. The guy involved in bribing case?
    KPK, please audit his wealth...

    The same story in 2004

Icuk claimed supported 25 Pengdas (mostly of them NATO for INA's badminton) to forced down Chairul Tanjung without explanation.
Some Pengdas asked money, money and money for badminton development in their province.

    He votes for himself?
    Dunno 'bout the voting mechanism.

Remember, he's still banned after all...

Banned, yet still wants to take a step ahead.
In Indonesia, we called it 'bebal.':(

Icuk is not the Head of Pengda DKI anymore

After Icuk was banned in December 2006, he is no longer the Head of Pengda DKI. Mr. Juniarto Suhardinata, one of the PB. Tangkas Alfamart owners, is the acting Head of Pengda DKI. Unconfirmed news said that after a meeting within Pengda DKI on Sept. 20th or sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, Pengda DKI will officially announce the candidate they nominate... ;)

wow, after all I've read in this thread, this Icuk guy seems like some sleezy character.

Jagdpanther, for all your patriotic posts pleading Rexy to go back (which i respect, I also not so patriotic), looks like if this Icuk heads PBSI, Rexy for sure wouldnt go back to PBSI, his bro/sis, etc might join him instead.

According to today's Suara Pembaruan daily, Joko Suprianto (world champion 1993) and former pelatnas doubles player Trikus have voiced their support for Icuk.

the problem with INA's badminton today is those who are positioned as chairman of PBSI do not care about badminton as much as they care about transforming PBSI into some money pinata in order to fill their own pockets- that's their first priority...in terms of players' achievements & performances, well lets face it, its ranked 10th in their priority lists... thats why i think we'll all witness the day when PBSI implodes while pb.djarum takes over INA's badminton

Come to think of it... I use to think LYB was pretty nasty... but compared to our very own Icuk... LYB is a saint! There I said it... :p

I just heard today from the badminton community:
Trikus was promised the job of 'Kepala Bidang Pembinaan' (the head of development) a.k.a. Lius Pongoh's current job...
Joko was promised the job of 'Kepala Pelatih' (the head coach) a.k.a. Christian Hadinata's current job...

Of course they support Icuk... Trikus and Joko don't have anything productive to do right now. They were excellent players when they were active, and I have high-respect for their badminton skills... but... those jobs that Icuk promised to them... are best done by Lius Pongoh etc. :) That's my opinion...

And, Hau-ge is absolutely correct: those ex-players... even current-players have no say in the up and coming PBSI elections. Only 32 votes count. All from the 32 Pengda-s... Let's all hope that common sense and the everything that's positive from INA badminton can push the vote towards the forces of good... Otherwise, we shall see a new dark age [probably the darkest age] of INA badminton emerging...

Remember what happened when the Sith lords and the dark side capture power in Star Wars? Yeah, that's pretty much what we're facing... :crying: Darth Sidius + Darth Vader + cronies in power... [ouch]

As i was reading through the last pages of this thread..

...i'm not at all surprised by what's going on, transpired & been developing behind the scenes. I mean, what else is new esp. in the way the Indonesian system works????......:eek: :p
...hmm, instead of PB. Djarum, i was thinking maybe our Krisna should head the reform and nominate himself to be the new PBSI Chairman....I mean, just by reading his recent posts (in this thread), he sure has the fire & i'm sure he knows the inner workings of the badminton politics in Indonesia....I'm for it, any other BCers behind this idea??...;)

Actually, the last several PBSI head that I know:
    Pak Ferry Sonnevile
    Pak Tri Sutrisno
    Pak Suryadi
    Pak Bagio
    Pak Chairul Tanjung
    Pak Sutijoso
...didn't use PBSI into their money pinata... for their stature, PBSI's money is not sizeable...

I do have to note that nick.h is right that badminton is not their 1st priority... They often use their role as PBSI head to get national exposure... useful for later political careers... [i.e. nominating himself as the next Republic of Indonesia President etc.]
