    World No.1 BWF Ranking Position includes winning at both major and non-major titles

    .
    :D:D:D This is why I would like to keep this thread to talk about just the BWF Rankings and nothing else.

    Why? Because the ranking uses the BWF points which is just showing numerical standing. It includes all points earned, whether from 'major' tournaments or not.

    I hope to remember not to talk about 'major' titles anymore, because for any player participating only in 'major' titles, that player is not really interested in the 'World No.1 BWF Ranking Position'. It causes confusion as to how BWF decide who is World No.1. :):):)

    2011 World Championhips Mens Singles title: Lee Chong Wei is still voted as favourite

    .
    Do we think that Lee Chong Wei can win the 2011 World Championhips Mens Singles title?

    LCW is still voted as our favourite.

    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...onships-2011?p=1727405&viewfull=1#post1727405

    After 132 votes, we have our Top 6 Seeded Players;

    53.03%...70 votes for Lee Chong Wei [1]
    30.30%...40 votes for Lin Dan [2]
    00.76%... 1 vote for Peter Gade [3]
    03.79%... 5 votes for Taufik Hidayat [4]
    03.79%... 5 votes for Chen Long [5]
    00.76%... 1 vote for Chen Jin [6]

    I think LCW will remain as the clear favourite.

    2012 Olympic Games: Could Lee Chong Wei be the No.1 seed?

    .
    Even if LCW didn't win at the 2011 World Championships, he could still be the No.1 seed at the 2012 Olympic Games. This is because LCW could still hold on as the World No.1 when the draws of the 2012 Games are made. :):):)

    2011 World Championships: We can see the pressure building up for Lee Chong Wei

    .
    I have just read this article;

    http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/8/1/focus/9212195&sec=focus

    ====== * ====== part of article ====== * ======

    MALAYSIA’S World No. 1 badminton player Datuk Lee Chong Wei must live up to his reputation and realise his potential by winning the World Badminton Championships in Wembly, London, on Aug 8-14.

    If Chong Wei can live up to the nation’s high expections and justify his No. 1 seeding, he will be Malaysia’s first world badminton champion, and this fantastic achievement will lay the foundation for us to produce more world champions.

    And going by his latest form and successes thus far, winning six titles in six months this year, this is the Penangite’s best chance to land the elusive world title and bring glory to the nation.

    ====== * ====== part of article ====== * ======

    We can see the pressure building up for Lee Chong Wei. :eek::eek::eek:

    Yes, we can see but do you think he is still that dumb after all this years ?

    He should win it for himself because if he wins it,

    he would be winning for his country

    and not the other way round :eek:

    I hope that LCW should just think of winning for himself

    .
    Yes, I hope that LCW should just think of winning the title for himself. :):):)

    This should lessen the pressure.

    I don't think that it is true that Lin Dan doesn't want the World No.1 title.

    Yes, Lin Dan performs better at major tournaments, but Lee Chong Wei performs better at the Super Series tournaments (from where most points for being World No.1 are gathered/obtained). And there are more SS tournaments than major tournaments per year.

    At the SS tournaments, Lin Dan many a times gets defeated by LCW. Therefore, LD is No.2.

    China is proud of their players being the best players in the world. China has World No.1 in all the other 4 disciplines, the WS, WD, MD and XD. But for the MS, LCW prevented China from getting it.

    Thanks to LCW that all the WR#1 does not belong to one country. It won't be good to the sport. Anyway, before the emergence of CL, CHN didn't have anyone consistent enough to dislodge LCW, with LD not taking part in most of the tournaments. Now, I am not sure.

    ?? This year They met Twice in SS and LD won the most prestigious one with the 1,2 million USD higest prized tournemanet ever in Korea.. and LCW won this years AE. Last year they only met in JO (where LCW won).. 2009 it was 2-1 in superseries wins against LCW for LD..

    Mainly LCW has played more and been more consistent on SS that 's why he has more ranking points..LD has never lost two times in a row against LCW!
