I am currently studying in Beijing, however I haven't been having any form of coaching since Uni days. Currently playing around 3-4 times a week, 2-3 hours each session. I am still playing competitively but would like to improve further. Recently I participated in the SOTX Badminton tournament 2005, my level is currently not adequate enough to participate in the Gold Series. So I had to opt for under 28yo. Singles. Got 3rd place but know I am still far behind. If anyone has any information on coaching and prices please inform me. Also if there is any competitive club available in which I could join that is near Wudaokou (BLCU) please inform me too.

    Jason

PS - I did tried to contact one of the e-mails provided on the earlier threads however I didn't get any response.

PSS - Due to the fact that I am new here, please excuse me if I did not write things in a proper way.

    Feng1 Tai2 Ti3 Yu4 Guan2 (Sports Centre)

    Hi
last time I went back to beijing, I heard the following:

Dong Jiong is coaching at Feng1 Tai2 Sports Centre. I know its very far away (from civilisation - you have to take the 323 bus literally for 1.5 hours). You could ask the guy who works at the beijing bbesports (or was it bbeshop) shop. The beijing branch is near Shou3 Du1 Ti3 Yu4 Guan3. Their website is at bbesports.com (or bbeshop.com). That guy seems quite resourceful.

Coaching in beijing (unlike shanghai) is mostly one-to-one and quite expensive that way.

Otherwise, there are some "high caliber" players who play at Nong2 Ye3 Da4 Xue1 (Argicultural Uni is almost opposite Shou2 Du1 Ti3 Yu4 Guan3) on Bai2 Yi1 Road. They play there thursday evenings. This information I also got from the guy who works at bbe.

Hope this helps (and please get me a signature from Dong Jion if you see him :p)

PS there is also a Yonex Shop near shuang1 an1 shopping mall. That male shop assistent is also a very good player. You coudl ask him for some poss of coaching.

How would you define "often"? I play at least 2 times a week.
