from my experience, most of the tape that comes with the grips are pretty elastic. the only tape that's so stiff that it absolutely won't stretch is the ones that came with the ashaway ribbed grip. i had to heat it up a tiny bit to make it stretch at all :(

    stop the video at 2:33.
This is what I hate on a grip - when you have these "waves" or wrinkles on the grip.

That's because he was rushing it, if you take some more time and patience, those waves can be eliminated by stretching the grip as you go.

yeah - that's the way how I do it, too.
I thought these waves comes from the style how he gripped it. But I think you're right :)

If you do 70 - 80% overlap, you will probably won't see the wrinkle that much. Only later, you can slowly reduce the overlap to say 50%. :)

You only do 80% overlap at the beginning. Slowly, you will have to reduce it to 50%. I am using the same approach and i manage to get it wrap up till the cone.

Of course, the more you stretch the higher you will reach. Cheers!

What did you put underneath the RKEP G08 ? Did you remove the original grip ?
