Yesterday when I was watching ESPN Sports Centre, there was a segment that talk about badminton in Malaysia, where the reporter interviewing the General Manager of BAM (a bespectacled Chinese man) and they touched on some under-performing Malaysian players, and the name of Hafiz was mentioned. The GM then went on saying that Yap Kim Hock is currently reviewing all the national players, and see if there are any players who have been given many chances but are still not delivering. The result is expected to be announced by the end of November. Has any Malaysian members heard anything about this?
that 'handsome man ' should be the GM of BAM Mr Kenny Goh... heard some stuff in the papers recently. some ppl are talking about it in bc also. Wait till the end of the year to see what happens... and if anything actually happens.
^^ lol seriously? what i read in the newspaper long ago was that they will release a few players after the world champs..like james chua and k yogendran..but why are they still here?
If i'm not mistaken, they've been saying this since last year? And warned the players a few times too. something like: if u don't perform for this and this tournament, you're out. Or if u don't perform by the end of the year, u're out. Stuff like that. Looks like BAM has trouble letting go?
Linus is right. Erin is right too, they've been saying this for a long time, and now finally they'll make some decisions..
perhaps this is a bit of a diversion here but I am a big fan of wong choong hann. I was watching on youtube just a while ago the match between WCH and a Korean player (Thomas Cup 2006) in which he ruptured his Archilles tendon... and I realise that he has such an admirable charisma. Now that is what I call a role model...that he is.
problem is they don't have people to replace them if the current ones are let go! The gap is just too big, so in the short term, they can't do anything
i believe that Korean player is Park Sung Hwan if i remember.. it was so disappointing, coz WCH would of won.
