Anyone around the Lower Mainland played here yet? [h=1]Khas Badminton Centre [/h] 170-2351 No. 6 Rd, Richmond, BC V6V 1P3
didnt play but had a look there last week... very nice set up just north of the postal sorting facility 18 courts in 9x2 setup very nice lighting, 6 non glare lights angled towards each court very spacious between courts
Wow...how do you guys get all the new info? You guys must be very well connected to the badminton scene. Any ideas on the flooring? No website yet though.
Flooring is like the usual mat over foam over concrete floor. No website yet but on Facebook. Very nice and spacious. The lighting is excellent.
No details as of yet. I think the building is still awaiting inspections. I peeked my head inside today and it looks to be a great facility just as Visor already mentioned. At least 10ft between courts. The net post are fixed to the floor. No one is going to hit the ceiling here. CanucksDynasty, I think you should arrange a thursday morning/afternoon meet and greet when it opens to the public.
I had a hit there a week ago and it feels very nice. I love the set up of the facility, and it takes on a modern look. I really like the cushion under the court, it's like clouds
I'm already suffering from withdrawal symptoms from not playing badminton for 3 weeks. . Earliest I might be able to play is in February.
Well, meanwhile you can definitely depend on us to report back to you how good this place is while playing with our new Panda Revelation.
Dropped back half an hour ago. Coach Kwee told me that they just passed their inspections a couple of hours ago. The distance between courts is about 6-7 feet. 9x2 set up so that you are not looking into the distance (for depth perception). Big lobby area. Parking might be a challenge as they share the lot with commercial trucks and these 16-wheelers come and go at all times of the day. No details on rates/drop-ins/lessons although they did advertised a winter camp for Dec 19th.

Agree with visor; excellent lighting. No glare whatsoever, stare all you want at the bird. Lots of courts; more than enough. Lots of drop-in time. They are still setting up things such as vending machines and badminton shop. Suggest getting benches in the change room?
Just stopped by Khas this afternoon to check the place out. Top notch facility. Great sight lines. Will come here again the next time i'm in town.
Hey chengjason! To answer your questions, the benches will be arriving in the first week of January as they are currently being made. Cheers!
