I've been using BG65-Ti for a while now, and almost every three months, I snap the string. Coincidence, durability issues, or a greater conspiricy? (I play at 24 lbs) -TNBRE
3months is quite a reasonable period of time. Some powerful players break strings every once a month, and i am not referring to the pros. Depends on what strings you use too. BG65ti is quite durable.
3 months is a long time. My fastest string snap was 2 weeks. Certain strings will break faster than other strings.
i snapped 3 strings in 10 days awhile ago but it could be a combination of many things such as stringer, type of string, tension and if it was a bad mishit etc
I've been playing with bg65 for a collective 20 hours or so (that is imagine I played 20 hours nonstop) at 28lbs, I guess I don't mishit very often. Try playing more dropshots instead of smashing all the time I guess. =/
haha... I snapped a BG80 (23lbs) in the 2nd hour of play due to a bad mishit. I just snapped another BG80 (25lbs) last week but this one already lasted almost 4 months (Nov08). Certainly agree with ryim_ that factors other than age affects the string.
i would love my strings to last 3 months. unfortunately, due to poor technique (and poor stamina), i snap strings every month due to mishits and generally poor shots. so yeah, i wouldn't complain ...
Three months is pretty normal for club level players. Many competitive level players can snap the string within a month, if not just weeks.
I must be doin something wrong - I have had bg65-ti in my racket for over 10 months now, and is still going strong with little creep in the tension. Mind you I had a very good stringer do it who strings at international events. Most of the players in the clubs that I know will often have strings last many months. Depends on the type of string (as some are very thin) and the condition of the gromments - as well as whether you mis-hit it at high speed.
I thought string lasting longer is a good thing? String life span depends on many factors, such as string type, string thickness, string tension, stringer's workmanship, condition of gromments, player's style of playing (hard smash vs. net drop), player's strength, accuracy, playing frequency, etc
Are you asking if its good or bad? 3 months is fine for club players as LazyBuddy said. I think you already have one of Yonex's most durable string. Even if it costs around $20 usd/ 3 mo. thats only $80 for the year. Very affordable and you should be fine.
3 months is an acceptable period to be honest. Most strings lose their tensions after 3 months of intensive play therefore you need to change it any way.
