If those are the numbers then it's a fake [IMG]. The shaft serial and cone code don't match up ... off by at least 2 months.

    Two rakets here.

racket model: Yonex Arcsaber 10 (classic)
    shaft serial: 2334768 / 2334821
    cone code : 428014SP / 428067SP
source : New rackets (strangely unused)
    price : 120€ each
---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8----

    Just another question.
Is the incremental number linked to the country ?
ie : 9000000 in 2010 for JP but 7000000 in 2010 for FR possible? Or is it just the same?

And is it a numbre per model or for all Yonex production?

All three seem fakes to me ... such a hard world :(

it should be incremental regardless the country code

The most basic and easiest thing you can do is learn about the cone codes. It would at least prevent you from buying the most obvious fakes.

"4280" at the beginning of the code codes would mean that the rackets are produced on the 42nd day of the 80th month, but there are no such days and months.

The first four digits of the cone code show the day and month of production, in the format "DDMM". Days can go from 1 to 28, 29, 30, or 31 (depending on the month and year), while months can only go from 1 to 12, obviously.

Thank you both ... the first one have been more tricky than the latest ones.

All of them are beeing sold on a local (french) very known website (leboncoin.fr) where you can buy all kind of stuff (cars / houses / tools / ...). Very very popular in France.

The two last ones are sold at a quite high price and when I called the seller, he was very confident and his ad is saying "genuine" ... so I wanted to ask you here, to confirm my "noob" judgement.

Again, BIG BIG BIG thanks to you guys.
I'm going now to mail leboncoin's staff in order to get these fake rakets off the market ... I'm afraid how much people fal into the trap.

    No problem Zleto :)
I think it would be like craiglist or e-bay (where they do auction or put advert in there)

the first one is not tricky, it is pretty low 7XXXXXX for 2010
many fake rackets have this kind of shaft serial and cone code (started with 7 with cone code production 2009 or 2010)
I found around 20 fake rackets like this

    for more detail
    cone code:
    DDMMYXCC
    D: day
    M: month
    Y: year
CC: distribution area (JP, CH, SP, TH, IP, UK, AS, FR, BX, etc)

usually fake maker target CH, SP and JP code
because SP (Singapore code, also for Indonesia and Malaysia) is area where badminton famous
CH because fake racket usually from China, so they disguise with with CH cone code so it doesn't look suspicious
and for JP (Japan) because many people think JP racket is better (in term of quality build) than another code (hence it is more expensive) but it is not true though

there are many other ways to know about fake rackets
you could check the cosmetic, or even the bag
fake racket comes with fake bag which use cheap material or wrong cosmetic

you can check my thread about it:

:). Based on the shaft-cone combination it should be okay [IMG] but you should still inspect the physical properties like correct font for the shaft and cone numbers.

here is some pictures for NS9900 taken last nite. TBH, my friend was wrongly gave me the cone code...it was sticker serial number (see 1st pic) :(...so sorry bcos i just noticed it.

is that anyway we can verify this racket?..since my friend was refused to take off the sticker. but he can provide the original receipt of purchased item.

deep down inside me, i believe this is genuine. by looking on its physical properties and cosmetic-wise personally....and got chance to play it for 3hrs last night :D. i had seen the fake one once, and compare to this...i can feel the originality.

i am going for rm450 (negotiable) from my friend if it so...this racket only played twice, very mint condition, no scrathes at all...he never like head-light....3UG4 with 26lbs, BG66.

    thanks.
