    Err..they're world #1....they're not expected to lose...PERIOD! :p
I've a sneaky feeling that Jayaraya will upset Djarum (if you can call it an upset)...

News flash from Krisna, who is watching Djarum vs Jaya Raya in the stadium now.

Scoreline is 2-1 to Djarum, with Andre Kurniawan Tedjono and Maria Kristin Yulianti taking the MS and WS as expected, beating Adi Pratama and Pia Bernadet Zebadiah respectively. Jaya Raya took the XD as Candra Wijaya/Greysia Polii once again becoming the savior, beating Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati in rubber-sets.

Now, Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati are facing Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Rani Mundiasti. If the score is 2-2, it will be a hell of a match between Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan for Jaya Raya against Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki for Djarum.

Meanwhile, Tangkas progresses to the Final with a 3-0 win as widely predicted.

Djarum beat Jaya Raya 3-1, after Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati beat Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Rani Mundiasti. According to Krisna, the Jaya Raya pair lost in terms of power play. Hmm....

So, its Tangkas vs Djarum in the Final tomorrow.

The defending National Champ, Jaya Raya, was convincingly defeated by Djarum when Mel-Shendy just slammed their way with ferocious smashes all match long... Terrified Jaya Raya fans were shouting & pleading to Nitya-Rani: "Jangan kasih ke Tronton" [translation: don't give it to the cargo truck] They were referring to Shendy who is tall and strong ...and used her sharp smashes [almost flawlessly today] to dismantle Nitya-Rani's defense...

More than 70 Djarum club members, young and old, shouted hysterically everytime Mel and Shendy smashed.... Luluk Hadianto, Herryanto [All England Champ 1981 and 1984], Eddy Hartono a.k.a. Kempong [All England Champ 1991 and Olympic Silver Medallist 1992], Haryanto Arbi [All England Champ 1994 and 1995] were there... I think all of them were eager to see Djarum become the National Champions again... If they do succeed, then that will be the first time since 1998! :p

    Lili-Vita vs. Mel-Shendy

    On the WD issue:
From what we saw today, Mel-Shendy will give a lot of problems for Lili-Vita... ;) Note that the shuttlecocks are very heavy and thus, make it very hard to win just by sheer speed. Muscle strength matters... :p Lily-Vita are more experienced and skilfull overall, but Mel-Shendy have more muscles! ;)

I expect a tough and tight showdown between the #1 INA WD vs. the #2 INA WD... ;) The #8 pair on Earth vs. the #13 pair... ;) :D

Simon Santoso might not be in his best form this week... Still hampered by a light illness, not sure what. But Tangkas chose to rest him again today and relied on Alamsyah to play against Mutiara's Sakti... So, maybe we could even see Andre vs. Alamsyah tomorrow... A match that can go either way too... :p Alam did defeat Andre during the selection process for this year's Thomas Cup team membership ... Maybe Tangkas will rely on Alamsyah instead of an unfit Simon... :)

I saw good progress from some club like Ratih, Mutiara or CBN Batam in young player's developement. Its good that talent pool not only in big-3, Djarum, Jaya Raya & Tangkas.

Surprisely that no Jakarta representative in Junior Final

That shows that the Jakarta clubs like Tangkas and Jaya Raya lack behind in their talent scouting?

    Djarum vs Tangkas
XD -- Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati vs Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir == this tie should belong to Tangkas. If Nova/Butet lose this one (like in the last Kejurnas), Tangkas will lose the overall tie.

WS -- Maria Kristin Yulianti vs Yuan Kartika Putri == this is a tie that Djarum must secure if they are to become the National Champion.

MS -- Andre Kurniawan Tedjono vs Simon Santoso (or Alamsyah Yunus) == likewise for Andre, he HAS TO BEAT Simon or Alam. He should be in better form than either of the Tangkas players.

WD -- Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati vs Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir == if the tie is 2-1 either to Djarum's favor, Vita/Butet definitely HAVE TO BEAT Mel/Shendy to salvage the tie. Likewise, they will win the title if its 2-1 to Tangkas's favor. This should be an exciting match.

MD -- Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs ????? -- I don't know which pair Tangkas will field....but...this is certainly their weak link. Tangkas has to secure the tie in WD, otherwise, Djarum will take the trophy home.

I think Djarum will just edge out Tangkas 3-2.
