it looks like beside MDs from China and Korea, other countries' representatives are 'piece of cakes' for Koo/Tan......
Lack of confidence and belief hence all the defensive lifts but .... maybe .... a spark is starting to show through
good try by the MAS pair... although LYD proved too much for them this time. see you in Hong KONG guyz...
Stayed up to watch the match last night.. Surely one of the best MD match i've watch in recent months.. Really entertaining and powerful match... fast and furious attacking and defending which caught the crowd's attention and made me didn't fall asleep without the help of redbull or coffee... Was quite glad to see that instead of keep defending , koo/tan actually take a step forward and take the offensive lead...But in the 3rd set, they are back to defensive mood again and i can already sense that they will lose the match when they play like that... Meanwhile for Lee yong dae, i still see he needs some time to adjust with his new partner, ko.. kO'S gameplay is totally different with JJS.. a lot of defensive shots from Ko actually just reach halfcourt, which forces both of them to dig very deeep to retrive the shuttle.. Overall, a very good game
Meanwhile, here is some highlights from the match..private cam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRs5WkxgyE4
Agreed... very entertaining. Koo and Tan looked like they had fun ... lots of incredible defense, behind the back shots, racket changes, and double action fake shots that actually got them points. And those really entertained the audience very much from the sounds of the applause they got. Better than just watching straight smashing fest instead, I suppose. Almost felt like an exhibition match.
Everything's seems perfect, except the umpire. I hate him. . . The most preposterous moment is at the last time koo change his racket because he broke it. He wanted to test it but the umpire say no
I'll be more honest about labeling the umpire, he was a "starts with an A and ends with and E, seven letter word!" 20 seconds to get back to court... but within 7 seconds he goes "Lee... please... Ko please..." while he got the Korean pair's names right... what was up with the Keat Koo Kean and Heong Tan Boon? LOL!
The umpire didn't allow the floor to be mopped, instead asking the players to use their shoes. Most players are used to their standard routine and time to serve and receiving serves but this umpire kept hurrying them even to the extend of not allowing the players to have a few words on tactics. At one point, he warned Ko to hurry up or "you will know the consequences". Don't know if Ko understood.
Agree about the stupid umpire. I don't think he allowed them to towel down even once in the whole match other than the official half time and between game breaks.
I couldn't stand the umpire either. What was that about ? So freaking impatient and annoying. Anyone remembers his name ?
Coming to think of it... there might have been the off chance that the umpire was indeed busting for a trip to the toilet! hahahahahha!!! He was just rushing in fear of gushing...
maybe BWF should put a mobile toilet just next to the umpire seat so that players & official can use it ...
