My source tells me it's Tommy Sugiarto vs Pukhov (Rus) in the MS finals. Tommy beat Top seed TCS in quaters, Pukhov beat 2nd seed Ashton (Sin) in semis.

It's no coincidence that Tommy Sugiarto's (same as Alamsyah Yunus) performance has improved since he left Pelatnas. Domestically, he won two titles in Sirnas Bali and Medan. If he does win the title in Laos: Laos International Challenge 2010 - WINNER Indonesia Open GP GOLD 2010 - QF (lost to Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka) Vietnam Open GP 2010 - QF (lost to Tian Houwei) Indonesia International Challenge 2010 - QF (lost to Ari Trisnanto) Singapore International Series 2010 - QF (lost to Shon Seung Mo) BAC 2010 - R32 (lost to P. Kashyap) He will also leap a lot in the rankings table, up to top 90 in 6 tourneys. It will be likely that he's competing in the India GP and IC next month, besides the Malaysia IC next week. Agaim, he will likely face the top seed Chong Wei Feng or Wei Nan [11] in the QF. If he can get past QF, there's a chance of him winning another IC title.
That's just another example that PBSI should improve their tournament plan for each player level. Tommy is definitely not Taufik Hidayat who able to burst right away to 'SS' level in early age. Then we all saw Tommy as losers in qualification rounds of many SS tourneys. Probably will be too late for him now, but at least he could compete in GP/GPG level in future and maintain his ranking well but I'm not sure he can reach so-called SS level. Tommy, Alam has lost their years in Pelatnas, let's hope it won't happen to Hayom.
I believe most of us INA fans in BC know it. Somehow, the coaches in PBSI know it too. But they can't manage to get things right. If this goes on, Pelatnas is no longer the ideal place for INA badminton players if they want to advance their careers. I believe Hendrawan does not start off that well too and I will consider him to be a late bloomer. Tommy was the runner-up of the WJC in 2006. He's still only 22 (born on 1988), around the same age as Hayom I reckon. If he wants to start being counted as one of the top 10 players, next year is a crucial year for him! I think it's not too late for him If I were him (or his father), I would set a target of being in the top 20-30 by end of next year and try to win at least a GP level event. It should be achievable. The India Open at the end of the year will be a reasonable tourney for him to achieve glory. But of course he has to deal with players like Ajay Jayaram, P. Kashyap, Chetan Anand, Arvind Bhat, and Gurusaidutt R.M.V.. Not an easy bunch to beat...but Alamsyah has shown that he can do it!

Ok, agree with this. I mistakenly thought that he was born 1987. Well, I only hints as probably too late, depend on his current progress. Tommy should eye the right GP tourneys and win it. I believe he can do it, he's not so bad, saw him vs Taufik Hidayat, he's quite good. Heard that he also possess good discipline and best stamina while he was in Pelatnas. So, he deserve better.
So far, he's selecting the correct tourneys in terms of his capability of winning it. He might wanna consider going to Kaohsiung IC too and that will complete 10 tourneys for this year. Much better than when he was at Pelatnas. With a modest target of QF in each of the 3 IC and 1 GP tourneys till the end of the year, Tommy Sugiarto could see himself in the top 50-60.

Somehow, the PBSI management cannot read the right tournament curriculum for their up and coming players. They should combine tournaments where that particular athlete/pair can: - almost certainly win .....30% - reach competitive rounds ....60% - get some playing experience against top players (but do it cheaply, like playing in INA PSS, SIN SS or something else with low travelling costs) .....10%
