Actually, no I don't own a store, sometimes my hobby room does look like it though. I like to try both the 3U and 4U of rackets that I will probably end up keeping, some I like in 3U and others in 4U. Sometimes I sell the one I don't like and other times I don't. The AT900T is another racket I have in both 3U and 4U. I only have a BS10 in 4U and since I really like it, I might have to get a 3U from Eric one of these days.

LOL... I did my time in school, I don't travel much anymore (2 kids under 5), don't golf much (same reason as not travelling) so my hobbies right now include computers, RC and badminton... If you took all my rackets, bags, shoes, stringer (basically all my badminton stuff) it's still less than my set of golf clubs cost. I'll spend more to play one round of golf at a nice club than I do for my yearly badminton membership...

I guess it's just a matter of perspective... but... when I was in engineering school I once lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with 3 other guys (and no none of us were gay ) and I put gas in my 10 year old beater car $5 at a time. 10 years later and it's a lot different.

Now our combined household income is pretty high so I can afford my toys. :D (helps that I just got my tax refund check and after buying all this I still have a bit left over).

Also, based on the 3-4 guys on the "how much do you make" poll that chose $100K a month... I'm nowhere near the most afflluent person on here... (ya, I know they probably meant to choose a year not a month but still funny).

I know exactly how you feel. I stopped fishing regularly and shifted the expenses to badminton. Fly fishing equipment can be so much more crazy and lures cost are like you change your badminton strings every half and hour. Same like a game of golf a fishing trip can let you play badmint+ shuttles a year!
But end of the day I still get stingy with the grips which is cheapest in the whole badminton hobby lol

I think I spend too much also on on my badminton gear. Although I wish I could play more then twice a week to get my moneys worth :). On average, I think i spend close to RM2000/USD645/euro470 a year buy rackets, bags, shoes, clothing and other accessories. I've been playing baddie for the pass 20 years and only the passed 5 years I decided to go crazy on my badminton gear spending. Overall my expenditure for my badminton has been more expensive then my golf games :crying: (I play very little golf now but have a very expensive golf set collecting dust)

But I must say i love my badminton a lot and the reason I spend too much money on it is because I just enjoy it. It makes me feel good even if I lose most of my games :p

Ok so I measured my rackets and also 1 more that my friend left with me for stringing and here are the prestringing weights and bps

    Arcsaber 8dx wt=88.8g, bp=289mm
    VT80 3U wt=89g, bp=305mm
    VT80 4U wt=83.2g, bp=306mm
    VT80 4U (2) wt=84.6g, bp=308mm
    MX80 3U wt=87.3g, bp=288mm
    MX80 4U wt=85.6g, bp=295mm

Once I have them all strung I will provide those as well.

Original grips, basically as they come brand new, nothing added or removed.

Well the VT80 3U seems to be at the high end with the 4U also both at the high end. Even though the 4U range is supposed to be 80-84 grams I've never seen any 4U racket under 82 (my own experience).

The MX80 though I think has less quality control since the "4U" is actually a light "3U" and the BP's are off by 7mm between 3U and 4U. As I've said in the past, there is always some variation but the MX80 "4U" should not have been labelled a 4U. The funny thing is that based on weight and BP I think I'm going to like the off spec MX80 4U the best...

I think I'll save that VT80 3U for the days when I'm really feeling good.... Based on the weights maybe I'll see if anyone wants a heavy and head heavy VT80....

Wow, quite a subtantial difference in 4U and 3U VT weights.

Substantial and normal from my experience. Yonex 3U's and 4U's actually are 3 and 4U's rather than just happened to fall on either end of the 85gr border and classified 3 and 4U. Personally I haven't had any 3U (675mm) under 88gr ... at least since I started to weight them as a result of this forum ;).

I'm sure other must've seen it but on the badminton.cn & at700 forum they regularly do swingweight tests and quite often the 4U and 3U are quite similar in swingweight (haven't read how they actually test it) With the 4U's swinging above their weight and 3U's swinging lighter ...
