Because LYB's son was poor performance in national competition, we believed that Li Gen have a back door into the China National Team

    Cool!

Anneke/Annisa become INA sole representative in SF after winning over JAP ladies, Koharu/Ayaka (ah, such cute names...)
And... that's another upset as JAP is 5/8 seed.

Because most people think Li Gen is in the team purely because of who his father is. There are many more deserving players who can take his place.

Mak/Teo were sent to more International tourneys after they won Asia Juniors, to prepare them for WJC. They were only paired up early this year, for WJC, LKW has graduated to the senior level, age wise.;);)

Mak/Vivian, well.... both focus more on MD, WD, only recent months, also as WJC preparations.

    A-yup... Salute to MAS

    Exactly what I mean.
MAS coaches see their potential, and keep improving them. Now, MAS is enjoying the yield: dozens of good, young MDs. Some in the making.

However, (this is my silly opinion) INA players are late bloomers. So-so when below their 20s, then rock the world after 20.
AFAIK, Kido/Hendra didn't win any WJC in their junior ages (if I'm not mistaken, they were paired up when they're around 20).
But, look, who is the reigning world MD #1, WC champ, and newly-crowned OG gold medalist?

Agree with you. Most of INA players just improve when they are above 19. Only few players have good below 19 such as Simon Santoso and Taufik Hidayat. There are few of top players of INA ex-WJC champion, I think only Kido in XD pairing with Lilyana if I don't mistake, and Sony and Tommy as finalist of WJC.

I think this year INA has no representative in the final since tomorrow our WD will meet 1st seed from CHN. But, this is a good start from them to compete at international tournament...

Yeah, looks like INA best result this time is 1 Bronze Medal same with last year edition when only Afiat Yuris Wirawan/Debby Susanto reached semifinal.
