this young pairs are only 20-22... yet I have heard their names for YEARS, maybe due to their victory in Junior level championship.

We cant expect another Lee Young Dae, Player like Lee YD come around once in every 20years.

our young pairs look promising but we will only know when they reach ard 25!

25 is the age which most Double players start to excel.

    Gip them more time...

An example of players coming of age at 25 is Mohd Fairuzizuan and Mohd Zakry.

The race of 3 pairs looks like race of 2 pairs, for a while at least, due to TKS's knee & ankle injury.

Double duty for Khim Wah as Kok Siang suffers injuries
KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Lim Khim Wah (pic) will shoulder double responsibility following an injury to doubles specialist Teo Kok Siang.

Kok Siang is expected to be out of competition for six months due to knee and ankle injuries, thus leaving his partner Goh Wei Shem in a lurch.
National doubles back-up coach Tan Kim Her said that Khim Wah would be partner two players until Kok Siang’s return.
Khim Wah will temporarily partner Wei Shem in smaller tournaments and continue combining with regular partner Chan Peng Soon in bigger events.

“It is unfortunate that Kok Siang is injured because, together with Wei Shem, they had good chance of fighting for a ticket to this year’s World Championships,” lamented Kim Her.
“For now, Khim Wah seems to be the right person to partner Wei Shem as it will not involve any major changes.
“Peng Soon’s main focus is on the mixed doubles with Goh Liu Ying under the Road to London programme.
“So, while Peng Soon focuses more on the mixed doubles, Khim Wah will have time to partner Wei Shem in smaller tournaments. I think this is the best arrangement until Kok Siang recovers from his injury.”

The other pairs under Kim Her’s care are Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong, Chooi Kah Ming-Ow Yao Han, Pang Zheng Lin, Goh Jia Hao, Law Win Hwi, Yew Hong Kheng, Goh Sze Onn and Tan Wee Tat.
“I hope that Hee Chun-Wee Kiong will raise their game and move up the rankings in the absence of Kok Siang-Wei Shem,” said Kim Her.

Hee Chun-Wee Kiong are ranked 31st in the world – 10 rungs below Kok Siang-Wei Shem.

KUALA LUMPUR: Several national back-up shuttlers have been hit by injuries – thus hampering their progress and giving the coaches a big headache.
Youngster Sonia Cheah, tipped to take over from national No. 1 Wong Mew Choo, twisted her ankle during the first day of training after the Chinese New Year break at Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara yesterday.
It is unsure whether she will be able to recover in time for the National Grand Prix Finals, which will be held in Kuala Terengganu from Feb 18-21.
In the men’s singles, Liew Daren and Tan Chun Seang are both down with ankle injuries and are doubtful for the German Open (March 1-6) and All-England (March 9-13).
The worst hit, however, is former world junior doubles champion Teo Kok Siang, who suffered two injuries – knee and heel – in a month.
Kok Siang may undergo surgery and this may rule him out of action for at least six months.

This is a big blow to Kok Siang and his partner, Goh Wei Shem. The duo have worked their way up to the 21st spot in the world rankings.
Should they miss the All-England and Swiss Open (March 16-20), Kok Siang-Wei Shem’s world rankings will surely take a tumble and they can kiss goodbye to their hopes of making their debut in the World Championships, which will be held in London in August.

National coach Rashid Sidek said that injuries to the back-up shuttlers were hampering his job of helping them narrow the gap on world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei.

Besides Daren and Chun Seang, Rashid is also in charge of Chong Wei Feng and Chan Kwong Beng.
“Chun Seang and Daren are players with potential, especially with their aggressive style of play. But I cannot push them in training because of their injuries. This further slows down my job to raise their standard,” said Rashid, who was quick to emphasise that “the injuries are not due to improper training programmes”.
“Injuries happen ... sometimes at the most unexpected time. Just look at what happen to Sonia today. It was just a light workout and yet she twisted her ankle,” said Rashid.
“It was the same with Daren and Chun Seang. But we are fortunate that we have good support from the NSI (National Sports Institute). We always have at least two NSI officials present during training sessions. The players are well-monitored.

Meanwhile, national back-up doubles coach Tan Kim Her said that Kok Siang, who was nursing a knee injury, hurt his ankle on the last day of training before Chinese New Year break.
“The ankle injury is a serious one. The doctors have advised him to undergo surgery and he could be out for six months,” said Kim Her.
“I have already pulled him out from the GP Finals and the All-England. Injuries like this are beyond our control. It just happens and we, as coaches, just have to make the necessary changes.”

Ya lor, poor TKS. I agree with TKH's decision to pair GWS with LKW, win-win for both players in this situation, they did win last year's Msia IC.

Yup, Goh Wei Shem is too valuable to be wasted and Lim Khim Wah would definitely suit him, let CPS focus on XD ;)

But I feel very sad lerh... TKS maybe 6 months also not fully recover... :(

To digress from the topic a bit..the report stated
Besides Daren and Chun Seang, Rashid is also in charge of Chong Wei Feng and Chan Kwong Beng.
“Chun Seang and Daren are players with potential, especially with their aggressive style of play. But I cannot push them in training because of their injuries. This further slows down my job to raise their standard,” said Rashid, who was quick to emphasise that “the injuries are not due to improper training programmes”.

Well, it sounds like an excuse to me.. I wonder how far Rashid could 'raise' their standards if they are injury-free.

GWS-LKW will make a good pair..due to CPS' commitment to XD. LKW is often left at the sidelines, not given enough opportunity to stamp his mark..Both of them are speedy and aggressive players. Should complement each other well..keeping fingers crossed

The thing is he wants to take back all the players that were growing under Hendrawan. Players change coach all the time, very annoying for the players also I think. Anyway, we should continue this in some MS thread..

Did Mak Hee Chun break up with his GF/quarrel with TWK?
ZERO communication. Passive gameplay, keep lifting non-stop. They seemed to be 'forced' to shout because they didn't even look like they want to win, honestly. Fairuz/OSH didn't even need anything special to win. I don't have any words to say except to SPLIT UP. Something has happened between MHC and TWK and I don't know what.

Dead last. I'm not disappointed, just wondered what happened?
