And also poses the question; if they just paint custom rackets like their normal series, why don't they paint it like the LYD, even if it isn't?
Someone in another Brave Sword thread (can't remember if it was 09 or 12) said that the only reason why LYD used the BS LYD was that because during the Olympics, JJS had an injury which made LYD wanting to have a slightly more head heavy racket... But then again, that wouldn't explain why both Ko and LYD are using the same racket. You'd think in that case that Ko would be using the head heavier one...
I managed to try a friend's KR coded 3U BS 12 last night. Based on dry swinging, it's very similar to my 4U MX JJS.. quite a surprise. tried a few shots as well... some clears and drives.. The swing speed is faster than my MX JJS... The shaft stiffness is also quite similar, with the MX JJS just being a bit stiffer. Just on memory alone, I would say that the 3U BS12 plays a bit stiffer than my other racket - 3U MX60... (perhaps the MX60 is playing a bit more flexi due to being more head heavy)...
could it be victor need a racket of the stock version bs12 spec for general market but could not get any pro to play wit it(which is extremely crucial for marketing purpose), so they resort to this bs12kp thingy for the players?

I just read this thread and was surprised that victor rackets have different specs for their professional players and the market itself. however, i have encountered this b4. wasn't the victor explorer (forgot the series) a few years back used to hv kr team signature on the racket cone? the idea that lyd and ksh was playing with a rather flexy shaft have always surprised me abit, especially ksh since he's a hard smasher. now, i wonder if they did the same thing with sw35. This was because someone purchased a 2nd gen sw35 a few months back and complained that the shaft was flexier than original. if that is the case, i find it disturbing since it felt as if victor is misleading us with these racket and player adverts. btw, i was trolling here since i just bought a new play toy in bs10.
you might have misunderstood my post. I was talking about an off-the-shelf KR coded BS 12. I'm not involved with the discussion on the KP BS12. I'm as clueless as you are in the Korean Player rackets.
Any victor fans can share the difference between BS 12 and new BS 12N.? Is it just paint job,, or the stiffness, head heavy ? Thanks
No real difference. All 3 Bs12 I've owned so far came in different weights, the last one is in the middle and painted in the new color scheme. Plays pretty much the same, it feels less head heavy than the previous one but that was the heaviest of the three. So as far as I'm concerned there's been no changes and it all depends on the weight you get, 85-86g playing very light and not really ideal for big smashes, and 87+g feeling a bit more solid and powerful on smashes. Stiffness has remained unchanged.
I couldn't go to sleep so I remeasured the BP of BS12N with G08 overgrip on the narrowest stable, slightly convex object I could find and it is at 294mm. So most likely around 300mm on stock grip. Did the same for my 87g/300mm XP70 as well wrapped with G11 instead and is also at 294mm.
Pretty common for a BS 12 to me. The 2 copies I had were about 298mm +-2mm with Karakal PU Super as a base grip. The nice thing Victor have done with the BS 12 is that the weight is mostly concentrated at the T joint area so it feels really even balanced but when you want punch when push comes to shove it's still there.
