Update: 1125 12h play 1115 14h play 1105 16h play Hmmm... seems like it drops 10 Hz after each 2h session...
This thread just makes me realize I'm going to stick to performance strings because most of the time I end up cutting the stringbed before it breaks anyways. VS850 might not be that bad afterall
Another data point for you: Apacs Lurid Power (0.65) on NS8000 @ 26.5 x 28.5 Fresh = 1360Hz After playing 5 singles games 3 hours later = 1330Hz Quite impressed with that string so far....
Nah White. Got 2 packs free with 2 Apacs bats I bought. (now sold) String seems like a nice performer tho... Nice to string too, very slightly rough (but very much a smooth string, just not like NBG smooth), like BG-66, doesn't kink very easily, doesn't go limp while trying to push through shared holes like Zymax does.
Yes, 0.65mm I am surprised how high it is too. Machine tension was checked before and after with digital scales using NBG-98 at settled tension (waited for tension creep-back from crank)
Hmmm... haven't measure BG65 before, but assuming it's nicely prestretched and is like ZM70 in thickness behaviour, then assuming 100 Hz drop after a few days to stabilize around 1180 Hz, that'd be about 28 lbs or so ...
it's about 31 lbs (was forced to do my cross tieoff where kwun does his because bg65 wasn't cooperating) so technically if we do your average you guys got it Was weird stringing bg65 after stringing mainly bg80 and zm62 for a few months... guess I was spoiled a little
Whew... thanks to cobalt we have the right answer. Please update us with the readings after a few days and first game day.
I haven't used an iPhone since switching to S3 for a year, but Clear Tune was the best I came across. Only $1.
Re BG65, that just shows how much tension loss there is with this string. I had assumed 100 Hz drop like ZM70, but if I had assumed 180 Hz drop, then that'd make it 31 lbs. Did you prestretch?
Just 10% on the WISE. It could probably benefit from being prestretched at 15% but I limit myself to 28-29lbs on the last top cross so 15% is a no go for me at that tension.
^ Ah, no wonder... usually with this string and VS850, I'd need 20% prestretch. In your case, you'll probably have 200 Hz drop after a few sessions. Keep us updated.
I've had a look on the appstore and it's gone up to about $4 now. I'm only going to use it to see what you guys are saying and probably won't take it as seriously as you guys so want to see if there is something free instead.
