It has been a tiring end of the year for most players. Danish players will participate because its their home event anyway. The Chinese first-team players will not be competing because they are in a training camp to refresh themselves in preparation for the Olympics. The Indonesia first-team players will be very exhausted as they are still involved in the SEA Games, which will last till 14th December. So, its unlikely PBSI will release them as a rest is needed, plus the preparation for the Malaysia Super Series just 1 month away. As for the Malaysian team, some of them are still nursing injury (Lee Chong Wei, Wong Mew Choo). They can send probably send Hafiz and the men's doubles pairs like Fairuz/Zakry or Tan/Ong. I doubt Rexy will release the two MD pairs: Koo/Tan and Choong/Lee.
Anything can change in the last minute. I guess Asian countries haven't decided yet. Haha.. Some players told me they wanna come, but it's up to their coaches and badminton federations to decide..
Let me put it bluntly, if top notch players show up then all credits go to you else ... I am still trying to figure out how to make BWF pay for my trip to Malaysia since Super Series Final is canceled without hurting my mom's feeling
I heard Nusa Mahsuri player, Muhammad Roslin Hashim and doubles player, Mohd Zakry Abd Latif/Fairuzizuan Tazari from Malaysia has been invited in this tournament.
Hmm.. ..i've somewhat lamented on this Copenhagen Masters (invitation tourney), and it's effect(s) for players coming from half-way arond the world and doing so during a holiday/family gathering period, when i first joined BC in 2004...Anyway, it's a bit of a long story.. *yannie, i guess our dearly beloved Flandy won't make his who-knows-how-many-times annual visit to Copenhagen this yr, heh??..
Hmm.. ..yannie, i remember in last yr's edition, correct me if i'm wrong, the INA (and other) players actually flew to/from Copenhagen and spent either Christmas Day or New Year's Day on the plane/traveling (eventhough i know some of them don't celebrate Christmas)??....
Hmm, last year the Indonesians and the Chinese arrived on Christmas Day - December 25th, and the Malaysians arrived in the morning on December 26th.. Then, on December 30th, the Chinese left Radisson SAS hotel around 7-8 am in the morning, the Malaysians left the hotel 8.30 in the morning. The Indonesians went sightseeing and shopping in the morning, and took the flight around 4pm from Copenhagen Airport to Frankfurt.
Wow..indelible memoirs.. ...yannie, your memory of those little bit of details (ie. time of events) really put me in awe!!....
I'm a girl.. Hahaha women remember the details.. 7-8 am: Jens drove the Chinese players to the airport.. 8 am: Tarek and I bumped into Wan Wah and Tan Fook who told us they were gonna leave in another half hour.. 4 pm: I sent off INA players at the airport with Jens and Taufiq Akbar.
yeah, until now they still don't wanna send anyone... maybe they will reconsider it after sea games? haha.. but indonesia and china do need visa enter denmark, so better do it as soon as possible.. unlike for malaysia, don't need...
Now INA confirmed won't send anyone to Copenhagen.. CHN about to do the same.. ZzzZzzzZzz.. I think I will skip it too.. Quite busy and must concentrate on my exams..
