the malaysian pair is not so impressive today but able to reach final is something they should be proud of. one thing is malaysian pair like to defend....that goes the same to kkk/tbh
Bo/Mo, Ko/Shin, Ivanov/Sozonov, Cai/Chai... Hoon/Tan has shown that they can beat some of the best to reach today's match Unfortunately, today they met the best... and there's no shame in that. They have earned a new found respect from many Malaysians... unlike another pair...
"they tried so hard, and got so far ,but in the end, it doesn't even matter..." too bad they're not gonna compete in Hong Kong SS, dunno whether they gain some points to qualify for SS Finals in KL...
lucky for you.....lol yes, indeed, with determination you will be rewarded accordingly...when you did your best, winning will become secondary...hope they can at least maintain some good results after this i read somewhere, if they can enter final in this China Open, they should qualify, as there are not going Hong Kong....hope the report is true... minor correction, their first international final tournament....FYI, they play together more than 2 years already..previous best was Semi finals Japan Open 2012 and France Open 2013, both lost to Koo/Tan.. at least can see him at podium is good enough.....hope one day he and Tan can stand at the highest step on the podium... good to hear that....shall we start a FB fanspage???
Make comparision with Thailand's Tesana(when he was still playing). Tesana is tall & big size, made it look effortless
Ah How failed to 'curse' LYD recently CHN SSP final to win a title, however able to beat least aggresiveKo/Shin, now he with Ah Tan set another target for beating KOR pair duo Kims who always beaten Koo/Tan easily... will they?
i think the modest aim now is for them to stay consistent rather than aiming to beat who and who... most MAS players common problem are consistency....except LCW....the pressure will be high and expectation on them will be higher....there are many more pairs they need to overcome, starting with their boogeyman, Japan Endo/Hayakawa are a pair that they lost in as many meetings, 0-6??? INA pairs like Kido/Gideon, Ryan/Angga, CHN, QZH/LXL.....pairs that they will cross sword in any Open...
Hoon and Tan is coming on nicely. They are slowly maturing in their game. But don't expect them to be top material. I will be contended if they could become a dependable pair with consistency, playing boring badminton but dependable one. If they can beat the japs and Korean second pairs consistently they may just bag a SS probably a major but that should not be their aim. Hoon technique has improved and varied a lot, no longer the one dimensional player he was a few years ago. It shows that if you put in consistent work it doesn't matter if you blossomed late.
I think hoon's game is difficult for Korean pair. Both Hoon and Tan try to keep their flat game more so difficult to attack. They also play from on top of the tape instead of below, my advice is that if Hoon Tan found a game that fit them all they have to do is fine tune the technique and improve on fitness. then they will be a pair to be reckon with.
Congratulations to Hoon Thien How/Tan Wee Kiong for winning the Macau Open! Including a notable win over Lee Sheng Mu/Tsai Chia Hsin
