i do agree with you that CHN WD pair DJ/YY has better than 50-50 against the KOR pair particularly the korean's poor form since the olympics.

with regard to XD i couldnt play ZB/MJ unless its a dead rubber for experience. MJ is too young and inexperience for a big stage like this. definintely will play HHB/YY, they are as good as any at the moment.

to be the runnre-up one needed to avoid CHN in the semi. may be we will see more creative pairings in the early rounds, that would be fun.

    ^^No doubt..^^

..every top contending squad will try to avoid the Semifinal match up with CHN..
KOR's WD pair's (LHJ & LKW) results since last yr's OG; i don't know how to define "poor" performance??:
    15/03/2009 WILSON Swiss Open Super Series 2009 - Runner-Up
    08/03/2009 YONEX All England Super Series 2009 S.Series - Quarter-Finalist
01/03/2009 Yonex German Open Grand Prix GP - Semi-Finalist
    18/01/2009 Korea Super Series 2009 S.Series - Runner-Up
    11/01/2009 Malaysia Super Series 2009 S.Series - Winner

As for the KOR's XD pair (LHJ & LYD) results since last yr's OG:
    15/03/2009 WILSON Swiss Open Super Series 2009 S.Series - Runner-Up
    08/03/2009 YONEX All England Super Series 2009 S.Series - Quarter-Finalist
01/03/2009 Yonex German Open Grand Prix GP - Semi-Finalist
    18/01/2009 Korea Super Series 2009 S.Series - Winner
    11/01/2009 Malaysia Super Series 2009 S.Series - Runner-Up
    30/11/2008 Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Super Series 2008 S.Series - Runner-Up
23/11/2008 LI NING China Open Super Series 2008 S.Series - Winner

Yup, me agree. Indonesia might just end up runners up again - If Marissa agrees to join in for WD that is.

CHN will definitely topple their group, in order to avoid them in Semi Final , teams must play to their best and finish top in the other group.
We wont get the chabce to see LYD play in MS and PSH in MD as in TC final last year:p, IF KOREA was placed in diff group with CHN ;)

'poor' as 1 win out of 5 outings! considering the chinese team was in hibernation most of that period.

    ^^So..^^

..you'd expect the KOR's pair of LHJ & LKW to win all 5 of the tourneys to be considered as a "best" performance??..Also, i thought CHN only missed the first 2 SS tourneys of this yr??..
Also, which other non-CHN pair(s) can claim to have the same amt of record/result, at least for this yr, as the KOR pair of LHJ & LKW??..

    ^^Ahh, yes..^^

..the #1 ranked WD pair...So, what about them?? Any titles to show for, at least for this yr??..(i know all M'sian BCers are eyeing me on this comment;))

Let's see, to help you guys out a bit, current #1 ranked WD pair:
    15/03/2009 WILSON Swiss Open Super Series 2009 S.Series - Quarter-Finalist
    08/03/2009 YONEX All England Super Series 2009 S.Series - 1\16
    11/01/2009 Malaysia Super Series 2009 S.Series - Quarter-Finalist

Btw, if one considers the KOR's pair of LHJ & LKW's "poor" performance, at least this yr, with CHN's absence, then how abt this percentage: losing 1 out 2 titles, basically a 50% winning percentage, is considered "poor"??..If they were to not win 1 out 4 or 5 tourneys, i wonder if it'll be termed a "disaster"??..:p

I dont think Vita will join team for Sudirman cup.. Indonesia can rely on Shendy/Meliyana or Greysia/Nitya..
Runner up is good for INA..

    Well..

..as reported in the other thread, no "Wild Child of Badminton", Flandy nor Vita in the squad.
Any assurance on that 3 points guarantee for the INA squad??;)
Overall, I think it will be a tough-tough play for the INA squad against any of the other 4 top squads (CHN, DEN, MAS & KOR).

    ^^Yep..^^

..i'm looking at the INA squad and i think they'll also struggle vs. MAS..Check out this lineup:

MS - LCW vs. Sony (upperhand to LCW as Sony is also recuperating from whatever his injury is)
WS - WMC vs. Maria KY (it's a wash as both are also recuperating from whatever injury they have)
WD - WPT & CEH vs. Shendy PI & Meliana J (could be a wash as the MAS pair is also recuperating from whatever injury they have, upper-hand still to MAS pair for their experience)
MD - KKK & TBH vs. MK & HS (it's a wash; we'll see how MK & HS do in this BAC)
XD - No question upper-hand to INA's Nova & Lilyana.

Overall, perhaps only the MS, WD & XD are decided with the other 2 events up for grabs. Nothing easy for the INA squad, for sure.
