not sure in term of rating number but the feel is very much different. AT900P is feel hardest on my shoulder and arm, same as MX80 and/or MX70. But MX60 is superb feel..more flexier and get more punch upon smashing.
Agreed w/ above, just tried MX60 3U HK coded. Feels much easier to swing n much more manouverable. I tried briefly AT900P, excellent power but too heavy for my old joints. Currently uses Flypower Ultimate Power 9 and Astec Pro850 (w/ 1g lead stripes at 9 n 3 o'clock)
I bought mine abt 2 years ago at Alan's mother's shop in Jalan Kapas Krampung Surabaya. It is an excellent even balanced racket for only US$50+. It is a bit heavy to swing but solid-feeling, w/ PCF technology used in Li Ning's N-series. I am not sure if they still have any left, but I still have 3 left, 1 new n 2 used.
Last year it was, now I am already 'tired' of looking n trying the 'PERFECT' racket so I alternate n most of the time I have these in my bag; 1)Astec Pro850 old logo, w/ 1g lead tapes 2)Flypower Ultimate Power 9 3)Mizuno L7 w/ 1.5g lead tapes 4)SOTX Diamond Fighter D300, old logo. Excellent doubles racket And the new Victor MX60, 3U. They are listed in descending order of swing weight/manouverability. MX60, in stock form is somewhat easier to use than all of them.
String tension Hi BCers,From what I've read based on the discussion Of this racket, it looks like the best combo is with BG66-U. Since I might plan on getting this racket soon, what tension should I put on this racket? I've used 24lbs on my BS09 with BG80 but felt a bit tight. How much should I lower it by with a thinner gauge string like the BG66-U and I've heard somewhere that the 80 grommets system on the MX series makes it feel a but tighter. About 22 or 23 lbs? Also, if I'm looking for power but also speed, will 4U negate the power output compared to a BS09? Or should I just stick to a 3U?
I opt for thick string for my mx60 been using nanogy 99 for the last 6 months. my tension is 27x29 lbs / 4 knots. IMHO
Look technically because its a thinner string you should lower it a bit, but one of the joys of BG66U is that it's such a forgiving string and transitions so nicely from the power game to the touch game, that I ended up just using the same tension as I did with my 0.68 strings. You're probably finding BG80 a bit tough at 24lbs because it is a fairly 'hard' feeling string. BG66U on the other hand is very tactile so I'd maybe suggest trying 23lbs and see how you go. Oh, and get the red colour because it looks awesome on the MX60
Oh I was thinking something along those lines too since I switched from NG95 which was medium feeling. The tension has loosen up a little and I'm finding BG80 a little easier to play with. I will get the MX60 if I can find some direct comparison of it with the VT70 since those are my two options atm. A little biased toward the MX60 with all these good reviews on how forgiving the racket is w/ its larger sweet spot ^__^ Does anyone know where to order them internationally aside from MBS and e78? I've heard others who ordered from Squash Eric but I'm not sure about that.
Eric is great and well trusted. Check out his RKEP ebay website. I've probably gotten over a dozen rackets from him over the past 2 years, with excellent service and fast shipping often in less than a week.
I've ordered my MX60 from Eric before he began to post Victor items on his ebay store. Just email him and he will be able to answer your questions. His store only shows a part of what you can buy from him!
