had trouble uploading my pictures , Blackberry's are terrible! but here is 1 i found online from a 100M reel. would be interesting to know if this was either a typo or some other reason.
Weird. Yonex should get this right. Why make two different types of String? or is it really a type? or Does is matter where the string is made?
The 10m pack has a durability of 7 http://shuttle-house.com/PAGE_top_JAPANESE/MAIL_ORDER/category/YONEX/GOODS/BG66M_b.jpg
I am looking right at my 10m pack and it has durability of 6. also the packaging of this 1 resemble ultimax.
Update on my play with BG66 Maxima for the past month. My old strings were BG80 tensioned 25x27 on 1 racket, and 23x25 on another. Been using BG66 Maxima at 26 x 28. So from a .67 to a .65 and going up 1 lb is about a 3lb effective increase most people would say. Overall this string was better for me in all aspects , more power better repulsion and crisper hits. 1 thing though i've had to adjust the power of my swing somewhat, the first 2 sessions i was back to back clearing the shuttle 3 feet long. lol in some cross court shots i've sent the shuttle slightly out as well. However now i can hit a under hand defense drive from the back court and have it land beyond the back service line. This was unimaginable with the bg80 that i was using. On defense it is also a lot easier to hit a return a smash with a clear to the back line. After the adjustment to the extra repulsion in the strings can definitely say the racket can do more now than before & less demanding. Even though the strings are tighter the feeling is softer, and a lot more enjoyable. Tension is still holding well and string shows no sign of breaking , yet.
been using BG66 Maxima at 26lbs on my new racket for about 2 weeks plus. Previously been using bg66 mainly and it take quite a while for me to snap my strings compared to the rest of you guys.probably my tension arent tat high and i dun hit that hard i guess. with my backhand clear of my opponent's smash, i can feel tat the repulsion have improved quite abit compared if i used bg66. bought my first pack of maxima in tokyo in october, bought another 2 packs at luxis(hong kong) 2 weeks ago. this should be able to last me at least a year i guess. In hong kong, so far i only saw the string available in Luxis. Think the price in tokyo is about SGD$18 per 10 m pack and hong kong is about SGD$14 per 10m pack after currency conversion. will order from shuttlehouse if i really run out by then and did not go overseas.
Can some kind souls tell me where to source BG66 Maxima @Retail in Queensway Shopping Center? What is a reasonable Singapore market price for BG66M? Thanks!
Got the opportunity to try this string on NS9900 at 25lbs for 3 sets. Was using the normal BG66 for years. Smashes and lobs are good. Drops and netplays are still untested. Fingers cross the tension hold and durability will be better that the normal model.
Sir, BG66UM has a slightly stiffer feel, something similar to a thinner BG66 while BG66M has a more "springy"/elastic feel. However the repulsion of both strings are so similar that there is almost no measurable difference even though you might feel a placebo effect due to the observation above.
