From the PT version that I had until I broke it *grrrr!*, I gotta agree with Penguin's comments.

Would not have sold off my entire bag to make room for the Revs had it been otherwise

Hopefully, soon, a few more will post something once they have used the racket. So you'll see. :D

The 2nd nicest sentence in the English language: "International item has left the origin country and is en route to Canada." - Canada Post. :)

Everyone should have their own. For me it was:

"Mr and Mrs Fidget, it's a boy!" :))

Panda Power Revelation - Initial thoughts

Got my PP Revelation yesterday and had a 3 hour session with the racket - all men's doubles. Wanted to share my first impression of the racket. Will share a revised review after some more time with the racket and a few singles games.

    Racket Specifications:
    Racket Weight: 85.9g
    Balance Point: 292
    String: Zymax 70 @ 28 lbs

    Current Go-to Rackets:
    Yonex Z-Force ltd. (Singles)
Victor SW 35 (Doubles and Mixed)

Earlier Rackets: Voltric 80, Trinity Pro (1 each from 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen), Nanospeed 9900

First Impression: The racket is gorgeous. When I first saw the Revelation in my hands I felt the looks were over-rated in the forum. Wait till you go to the court and the light reflects from the racket. It is an absolute beauty. Looks like a dark shade of brown with the carbon shining through. Nothing like any racket I have owned before. The minimalistic design is definitely worth a mention.

Playability: Irrespective of what new racket I try I always mistime my initial shots. It was no different with Revelation. What was interesting is that it took me comparatively lesser time (~5 mins of warm up) before I started finding my range with clears and drops. Clears and drops were very precise and backhand clears easily covered the distance of the court. Net drops seemed to have better control than before.

Offense: Somehow I did not find my timing with smashes till 5-6 games. But when I finally did, the racket did pack a punch. The shots were crisp and the shuttle seemed to travel faster than smashes using ZF or SW-35. Even with smashes when I was out of position managed a decent degree of power. I had so much fun with smashes that I started smashing whenever the shuttle went up. It compromised my game but was a lot of fun none the less

Defense and Drives: Defense was good though I did not feel any marked improvement over SW35. Half court drives were crisp and easy to control.

    Overall:
The racket gives a solid feel. My hand did not feel tired even after 12 games (including 6 back to back games of incessant and at times unnecessary smashing). The stiffness seems like a little less than Z-Force ltd. Power generation is really good and so is the control. A pretty good all-round racket. Definitely bang for the buck.

    Summary:
    Power:
Extremely good - definitely better than my earlier rackets
    Control:
Extremely good - seemed better than my earlier rackets
    Feel:
Solid and did not feel any vibration
    Defense:
    Good
    Stiffness:
Stiff, but less than Z-Force Ltd. Comparable to SW-35
    Weight / BP:
    Customizable on request to Panda
    Looks:
    Drool :p

    Best Regards,
    Pranab

Update: another order of Revelations has been ordered. ETA: late March to earl April.

This batch will be all heavier ones: 86-90g, BP295-305.

There are still some Revelations left but they are all generally lighter, 85-87g, BP285-288.

Recently, there have been a lot of requests for heavier Revelations. This shipment was very consistent, with most of the rackets being 85-87g, BP285-290. It's on the lighter side but within Panda's requested target range of 87g, BP290. Normally there's a pretty even spread from a low of 285 to a high of 300-305; but not this time.

Panda knows now, to satisfy weight/BP differences, he has to place two orders.

I would like to ask you a question Dink, Do you consider now the PPro as discontinued or will there be another batch of this model after?

None of the rackets in the Panda Power line are discontinued.

Depending on demand, any of them can be produced. :)

Wouldn't be the launch of a new racket without a picture of my ugly table for my buddy Fidget. Arrived today and of all the Panda models this is probably the one I am most excited to try. Ok cheated by having had the opportunity to try a few prototypes along the way. Think I am in charge of the cold weather testing and to make sure it can survive the -40 trips in the back of the suv to the clubs.

Love woven rackets the look is captivating ever since I had a Sotx W16 back a few years ago was smitten.

Can't wait to put some VS-850 on it and give it a go tomorrow.
85g at 288 bp, x 2 have victor lead weights in case its too fast. With overgrip
and string should be in my 94g zone.

Thanks Dan for the quick turnaround and shipping.

    Looks good, ormy4 !! (The Revvy's; not the table.).

Two Revelations apparently arrived at Casa Fidget today. But many of us work during the day (unlike some people in Winnipeg, apparently) and into the night. So those two black beauties will just have to wait home alone until I arrive to caress and dress them up in Zymax 62 late tonight. mmmmm. All Hail the Panda!

Oh they are beautiful, Dan! The nifty colour-shifting letters compensate for them covering up so much of the naked woven graphite. Will add my review of its play to the list next week.
