I recently invested in a Tantrum 300 but have yet to get used to the stiff frame. It's agony on my arms and wrists at the moment but when I do hit the sweet spot, it's a marvellous racket. It feels strangely like my Arc 10, but somewhat stiffer and probably heavier in the head. It is a quality racket, no doubt, and for the price is a great bargain.
If you can't handle the stiffness of the Tantrum 300, I would not recommend trying the Lethal 60/70 - they are even stiffer. As far as I understand it, apacs grades stiffness from 7.0 (very stiff) to 9.5 (very flexible). The Tantrum 300 is graded at 7.5-8, which I suppose is at least moderately stiff. My Lethal 70 is graded at 7.5, which I suppose makes it slightly more stiff. If you have the arm speed and power (or just decent technique), you should be able to wield them just fine. The precision and power of these rackets are simply amazing. The beauty is that I find I can still defend with them very well (particularly with the Tantrum 300), which is a huge bonus for head heavy rackets.
After using my NS 9900 for a while, had a little hard time adjusting back to T200 Personally I find the Slayer 66 string isn't actually that great. Just strung my other T200 with BG 66UM. Can't wait to give it a go. Argh...so behind with stringing clients' rackets till I have no time to string my own Lethal 60.
From my experience, the NS 9900 is certainly a very different racket to the Tantrum 300 and Lethal 60/70 - it's much more balanced/head light - generally not my type of racket.
By the way, played with my Tantrum 300 and Lethal 70 again last night. This was the first session where I felt I was playing better with the Lethal 70 - I was getting some tremendous power with it! Seriously, I think one smash probably beat the world record! I also felt I was more consistent with it. Anyway, both are great rackets, and I look forward to my next session!
Friend, i want to ask, now im looking my 2nd racket.. more to power and control and sometimes i try to smash maybe 40% out of the whole game, which one do u think more suitable for me ? 1. Fischer Black Granite No. 1 2. Apac Tantrum 200 3. Apac Rapier 88 4. Yonex Nano Speed 800, and 5. Yonex Nano Speed 850
I've never tried any of the rackets in that list, but I've tried the Tantrum 300, which is identical to the Tantrum 200 (3U). I would highly recommend the Tantrum 200 (3U) for a power/control game - it's slightly head heavy, moderately stiff, and incredibly stable.
One of my female friend tried a Yonex Muscle Power 88 but it is too pricey to get one. So just wondering can I get any similar from Apacs?
i bought them quite cheap for Lethal 90 $70 (AUD) and Lethal 100 $90 (AUD). for these prices, you can't get cheaper than that unless you are willing to pay more for other expensive brands.
