14-all. SS saves a smash with a crosscourt base return.

    It's a seeSaw battle 15-15.

Both employ their BG smashes to win points. Setting up at the net is therefore very important and in the end NTM made the most of it to win G1 21-19.

NTM opened G2 saving 2 smashes n won with his own smash in return.

3-0 for NTM with a body smash n a forced error.

Ikeda/Reiko gives walkover to CPS/GLY. Apprently Reiko injured something while sleeping.

CPS/GLY will be in the final. Got this information from CPS and GLY's facebook page.

Somehow the badminton venue in Sydney is not ideal for spectators with their small seating capacities. It was the same during the Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006 when the matches were played in similar narrow exhibition halls and not proper stadiums.

In any case NTM is leading 19-11 and is unlikely to lose.

It's all over for the defending champion. NTM progresses to the final. Hope he can finally win a title after so long... always good to see this runner and fighter on court.

Sasaki failed to defend his title here, lost to tenacious player Nguyen Tien Minh, 19-21 / 11-21.

The WD between CHN (Luo2) and JPL (Naito/Matsuo) with the JPN girls now leading 6-5.
    So far quite evenly matched.

AUS umpire Jitten Bhatt seems to be a familiar face and BCers might have interacted with him during the Jakarta Thomas Cup 2008.
