Wang chen didnt get her dream,it becoz Saina Nehwal.. Today she lost By saina.. I really2 shock and sad about this result..
she was 15 and in XIIth!!! man, they are saying her studies are getting affected yet she's in 2nd Year of College. here's the source of my confusion: normal kids get in twelfth at 18 and in second year at 20.
The source of your confusion is wrong information Saina Nehwal was born on 17 March 1990. At the Beijing Olympics, she is 18 years old.
At least another 2 more Olympic Games for Saina to win a medal or more . For a Badminton event at the Olympic Games, it is a great achievement for a 18 year old to be remaining in a group of last 8 players. And Saina eliminated the No.4 seed on the way to that group. So CONGRATULATIONS to Saina for doing so well. Haven't watch Saina's Quarter-Finals match against Maira Kristin YULIANTI yet... but knowing that their first game went on for 28 minutes, finishing at 28-26, won by Saina, I would guess that exhaustion played a big part in Saina's failure to win the next 2 games. There should be at least another 2 more Olympic Games for Saina to win a medal or more. .
Saina's father in tears as he pats his daughter 13 Aug 2008, 2020 hrs IST,PTI HYDERABAD: Tears of joy welled up in the eyes of an emotional and ailing father of shuttler Saina Nehwal who came very close to becoming the first Indian woman badminton player to reach an Olympic semifinal in the Beijing Games on Wednesday. Harvir Singh said he was "not too disappointed" with her the performance of his daughter, who lost to Indonesian Maria Kristin Yulianti in the quarter-final, and in fact "I'm proud that she went up to the quarter-finals". "Saina has done very well for a girl who has no support except that of her family and I wish she continues to do so", mumbled Singh, his voiced choked with emotion. Admitting that Saina's opponent was "formidable", Singh said he had no regret that her daughter had lost a match which she could have won. http://olympics.timesofindia.indiat..._he_pats_her_daughter/articleshow/3361835.cms ================== all the best for Saina and family. Hope from now on she would receive more support she deserve
Unless Saina gets injured/not properly trained, she should be a strong title contender in the 2012 Olympics...
Saina's performance in this yr's OG was a delight.. ..saw her for the first time playing live as she defeated Wang Chen. At first i thought Wang would probably win the rubber set, as Saina would probably run out of energy, but it wasn't to be. Wang Chen also appeared or seemed to be slimmer than before. After the match ended, Kevin, Fengwei and myself noticed 3 gentlemen (all wearing turban) waving and trying to call Saina, but to no avail. We thought one of them was Saina's father and wanted to call out his name "Dr. Singh".. Eventhough she lost vs. Maria, Saina should have a pretty bright future ahead of her, esp. with her advantage in age...
Another 3 more Olympic Games for Saina to win a medal ? . After having Zhang Ning doing so well at her older age, perhaps there would be another 3 more Olympic Games for Saina to win a medal (or more). .
2020 Olympic Games: Saina still younger than Zhang Ning at 2008 . Loh ... For the 2020 Olympic Games, Saina will be still younger than Zhang Ning, who won the Womens Singles Badminton Gold at Beijing 2008. Yes, of course, we hope that Saina could do it before 2020. .
My prediction is Saina and Yulianti will compete for Gold in 2012. It is good to see another non-Chinese players competing for the top WS spot. Go Saina!
how about wang yi han , jiang yan jiao they all.. they all gonna replacing zhang ning, XXF..etc.. dont forget them..china will be doing something to defend their title in the OG2012
then howcome she's in college? search this thread, i learnt it over here and that's how got confused. anyways, saw her speaking on times now the other day. i must say she needs to learn a lot about public speaking or she'll carry on sounding like ex-medium pacer venkatesh prasad. and maybe a bit of touch-up by the makeup man won't be bad although she looks fine.
wow,!!!! REWARD - More than 57 000 US $ for Saina Figures keep falling after the Olympics and India's Saina Nehwal was promised no less that 2.5 million rupias, which is around 40 000 euros or 57 000 US $. The 18 year old shuttler qualified for the quarter final of the Olympic Games and was promised this amount of money today by her Haiyana government as well as 6 other Indian athletes amongst which Vijender Singh, who got a bronze medal in Boxing.
