Any idea what are the models for the fleet rackets, clone of YY or their own range of rackets on promotion? Does anyone has any recommendation for fleet rackets that they have used before? Currently I'm using their Sharpsaber 10 (clone of Arcsaber 10). Head heavy, good offensive racket but need to work on control, for me. Overall a good racket if you are interested. Tension of string (I got 2 rackets with same Proace string at 25 lbs but the other plays better for me with a tighter string. Just my comments)
Feeling bored this sun morning and heard so much about Honly in the forum. So I decided to drive to J.B. to look for Honly. It is actually located near to Sentosa Plaze, Taman Sentosa where the Store depatmental store is (initially i tot is near the Sentosa hawker centre) Quite amazed by the number of rackets they have in store. Hundreds of them .... Mostly apacs , fleet, proace , victor, RSL etc As Yonex is less variety and no discount given (no strings and no bags, no grip given) . I did a conversion i think MAYBE still cheaper in compared to SNG. I.E Carbonex 15SP is selling RM186 no discount against SDG136(before discount) APACS and FLEET going at RM169 for any 2 Plus big bag and free grip Yonex BG66 China string at RM 21 and 25 respectively BG95 Japan at RM45 Victor and RSL at already attractive price before discount ...plus big bag and free grip. Victor SW 31 /32 at RM288 before discount Rackets on queue to be strung is like close to one hundred and customers buying rackets on sun morning ...4 string machines they have. I think they can easily do a RM10, 000 sales per sun. Verdict : hmmm ...ok to shop if you are going for Apacs, Fleet, Pronex, Protech, etc As for yonex i think better to get in SNG ... I was told if you travel to Taman Uni Area, Skudai even cheaper than JB cos JB rental is high .
Do Honly (Taman Sentosa) and Permai Sports (Kotaraya) sell Karakal PU grips? How much are they going for these days?
some mathematics here ... RM8 = $3.40 Sing Queensway selling $4 Sing Difference = $0.60 Sing per piece I guess you gotta buy the whole box to offset your effort, time, travel expenses to travel there from Singapore to Taman Sentosa and back again.
some price update from Permai Sports this morning Fleet Speed Power (clone of YY NS9900) RM 150 for 2pcs c/w BG 6 string FOC bag Apacs Edge sabre 108 (clone of YY AS10) RM 155 for 2 pcs c/w BG 6 string FOC bag Impact 700 (clone of YY AT700 LTD) RM179 for 2pcs c/w BG 6 string FOC bag Shoes YY SHB 200EX RM299 YY SHB 101 RM269 YY 100 LTD RM259
Juz went down on Sat to Honly wif frens. Shop is at T-junction to the row in sentosa where there are pubs and bridal shops. Shop spots big signs of different badminton racket brands logos. Taxi fare frm City Sq (custom) is RM8. Rackets are hung at different height. Rackets hung at lower level all have "buy 1 get 1 free" offer. They have Apacs Edge Sabre 10 (which has offer) I bought 2 rackets wif diff price, and the final price was the average of the 2. Comes wif free bag and grips. String is optional, but req additional price. Stringing takes 30 to 45 min. (u may need 2 chk prices arnd wif other stores as 1 site posted a lower price for 1 of the racket I bought) There r 2 restaurant selling paper wrap chk. (Heard "De Xing" tastes better than "Zhu Lin") Hope this helps.
