Hmmm, TKH says that its Mak who couldn't handle his nerves and couldn't keep steady, although I thought that TWK made more mistakes throughout. Of course, both didn't play exceptionally well...

The back-up squad men’s pair of Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong will be face the biggest test in their badminton careers at the Guangzhou Asian Games.

And one person is quietly confident that the youngsters will come out of the whole experience with flying colours.

Their coach, Tan Kim Her, is looking at Hee Chun-Wee Kiong to believe in themselves and to avoid making careless mistakes.

“I trust and have confidence in them. They can make it difficult for others if they can hold their game,” said Kim Her.

Kim Her said that he was happy to see the growing confidence in his back-up squad players.

“They have been shaping up well and are more consistent. They are talented but they need to be braver in making a statement on the world stage. The Asian Games will be a perfect platform for them to make a difference,” he said.

Hee Chun-Wee Kiong arrived home from Odense yesterday to fine tune their preparation for the Asian Games.

To make an impact, one has to believe in their ability, and that they stand a chance even though they are still not at the same level as the top 10. Jan O' Jorgensen is an example of a very confident singles player, and for doubles, look at how Chai Biao/Zhang rose. These people have great mental strength and are confident.

I think Koo Kien Keat is quite a brave and a player who doesn't give his opponents respect when he was still the underdog. :)
