I have checked in the information of your Yonex Nanospeed 500 shaft Serial:2612169; Cone Code:170794US (date=17 Jul 2009) to my information list of Yonex rackets Developed by Yonex Japan (on the shaft) and Made in Taiwan (on the cap), its shaft serial and cone code are legitimate.

However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

For the cone code of 161205SP (date=16 Dec 2000), the valid shaft serial should be close to 2850400.

    1) you bought the racket, but you don't dare to peel off the sticker

    2) you haven't bought the racket, you remember the code and want to make sure before you go and purchase it

*usually people will peel off the sticker to confirm and verify the production date

hahaha, just guessing here, anyway your cone code was (22nd January 2007) seems ok by comparing to your shaft code :D

better leave this to the expert (leehsim) :D

This racket is noticeably heavier than my friend's racket, yonex mp99. But according to their specs these two should weight approximately the same. I am a beginner and this is my first yonex racket so I have no idea if it is real or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Racket Model: CAB30MS
    Shaft Serial: 8758605
Cone Code: I60995US (not sure if the first digit is I or 1)
    Source: Badmintonavenue.com
    Price: $104.90
