I too love zm62 for it's incredibly easy power and crazy control, but it don't like me at anything over 24 lbs... it snaps at the slightest mishit. :(

Maybe you had a bad batch of bg66um?

I wouldn't normally play with a higher tension than stated on my racquet in case it breaks but i suppose a little higher couldn't hurt especially since i don't mishit often. The maximum it can be strung to is 28lbs, would love to try that one day. I use the red version which I've heard is more durable than the original but can't be too sure. As for 66um, I doubt yonex would let a bad batch sneak into the market but who knows.

And that's one of the advantages of playing with a super thin string like zm62, you can get a stiff stringbed at lower tensions compared to thick strings at higher tensions.

    My Top 3:

ZM62: The best sound and "immediacy" you can ask for out of a badminton string!

R4X Momone: Excellent Resilience and lovely crisp feel. Don't be fooled by the "girly look" on the packaging, this string packs some serious power.

BG66Ultimax: Control, sound, feel, you name it. Feels just right when fresh, an ideal tournament string.

I haven't tried the zm62 that we bought together yet, the zm65 has been awesome. I will try Zm62 at 24lb next time when I change the string.

Save the ZM62 for feathers... too thin for plastic.

I only really remember Yonex in recent memory :D
    1. Yonex BG66UM more like BG66 YUM!
    2. Yonex BG65Ti
    3. Yonex BG80

I haven't really had BG80 strung at just the right tension, so it could become a favorite later down the road. BG65 is also a favorite of mine, strung the right way, but I haven't rediscovered that way yet.

The yonex and rsl strings I have used and their ranking according to me:
    1) BG 85
    2) BG 80
    3) NBG 95 / RSL LT 70
    5) RSL TI 630 (low durability)
    6) RSL TI 660 (low durability)
    7) BG 66 (if I want something thin with high repulsion, but I dislike the feel, durability and the string slippage)
    8) BG 65
    9) BG 70 Pro

I have not used 2-9 in the past 6+ years at least. :p

Start out with BG80 at 1 lbs less than your current BG65Ti. See if you like it. Then move on from there.

You need to write more in details about WHY you'd like to try another string, if we are to recommend one to you.

There are so many options, and it all depend on your preferences and what you're trying to achieve by switching.

The point is, that I don't know what I want, I never used something else to know what I need. :D:D

Then go for BG80 for starters. It's by far the most used "performance" string. Compared to bg65ti that you know, it's better in all departments except for two things:
    1) It's a little less durable.
    2) It's a harder string. For most people that's a huge plus, but for a few it means more strain on shoulders and elbows. 65Ti is not the softest of strings, so it won't feel like night and day :)

    Cheers,

I've been using NBG 98 at 30lbs main/cross these past few weeks and have had an okay experience but they feel loose now. Not sure what it is but it's just not the same ever since two days ago and I can't put my finger on it. I think it's time to change them given that I can't derive the same enjoyment from them.

I was earlier going for long clears and a full defensive game because I was scared to attack after not playing for more than 5 years. Now that some confidence is back, I reckon a better string is in order since I've gotten bored from this weird feel these have.

What are some options I could go for that would feel like a decent upgrade? 66UM? AS? BG80? All recommendations are welcome! (Yonex only please as choice is limited here)
