Hmm, that's an extremely small depth of field with a flat perspective. That's quite a distinctive out of focus background. I'm guessing it's a 200 mm lens being used at f2.0. wether it's Nikon or Canon I can't tell.
kwun is correct! those donut like bolehs were made by a reflex mirror lens. the lens that I used for that photo was a nikon 500mm F8 reflex mirror lens. and flowers were about 20 feet away from me. "donuts" in the background were in fact light spots between leaves of a tree which was at least 100 feets away from my shooting spot. i've been told that mirror lens can only produce low contrast images! but i think the nikon one is really different! do u guys know, that photo was taken in a rainny day!
here is one for me to share. i have been really busy lately with everything (and apologies to the many who has sent me email/PMs as i haven't been able to reply them). but last weekend i did manage to take a break with family and friends for a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. We managed to stay away from work and computer and spent some time in the snow. we were lucky to stay next to the lake. i went out in the middle of the night at 20F weather to take some photos. i stood out there for an hour. this one i was particularly proud of. exposure info is: 24mm f/5.6 ISO800 160 seconds
That's a nice shot kwun. What time was that? You know, I can never see that kinda blue color at night in HK!
it was 1am. :crying: coldness aside, it was worth it. very rarely do i get to spend time alone with myself in such a nice scenery. the blue color... well, you know, it all white balance adjustment!
very nice composition. Didn't know 160 sec exposure could get a nice photo like that. I kinow bluejeff will be smittened with that photo.
That motorcycle bisection looks like a James Bond-type torture some BC'ers have dreamed of for their favourite badminton commentator: That Guy. ("they'll be cheering in the rice paddies of Java tonight!")
Coolness!!! kwun, very cool (no pun intended, for the color and temperature) shot!! 11 more wonderful snapshots like that and i think i have to pre-order my 2010 custom BC calendar from you... ..hmm, i was wondering, does the 1DMKIII allow 160 seconds of shutter speed?? that's like 2 minutes and 40 seconds of silence..
Really a very nice photo u took Kwun... i set it to become my desktop wallpaper... hope u hav more photo on the way ^^ cheers!
any slr can set a shutter speed of 160s. use bulb mode or aperture priority with a small aperture + low iso.
