Sales will depend on whether if he'll win the AE2012 in March, imo... if he does defend his title there, we'll see a lot of vt80's go onto the second hand market while their owners trade them in for this
Good point. No wonder the Z Slash didn't sell as much (guess who was using it before). LCW needs to use a Z Slash for the early and "easy" qualifying rounds to get some sales of the Z Slash going. The Arc 10 saw a sales increase of about five rackets worldwide after Taufik won the India GPG.
Sorry to sound a little rude, but would LCW actually do that? He does not strike me as one who would change rackets mid-tourney for the sake of improving Yonex's sales.
You're hilarious. Z slash sales were off the charts when it was released... for the first half a year. Then we saw a gradually increasing number put on the second hand market as the early adopters gradually realized that it was a difficult racket to adjust to, not to mention it had no "feel". One year after it was released, it was generally regarded as a rare bomb for Yonex.
I'm thinking it will not be as head-heavy as the VT80. I noticed he had to recalibrate his cross-court drops in many of the games he played at the KO PSS this time. The VT80 being (possibly) more head-heavy, he did not need to use as much wrist as he may need to now. Of course, I grant that he's a better player than me, so he re-adjusted pretty quickly to the new racquet...
I think I'll wait for the LCW Ltd version cuz I really don't like the paint job. So....maybe 3-4months wait for the LCW Ltd after initial release???
So true! but I just like trying different rackets, just curious I guess. And I think many here just like collecting rackets hoping it would become a classic cuz we badminton nutz . Kinda like girls that buy purses that don't make them look any prettier.
The comparison should be players of similar level with each using different grade of racquets. LCW could beat most if not all of us with a wodden racquet.
Looks decent on the old APACS Tantrum 200. I've always thought green was underused on rackets, so it's nice to see for a chqnge.
Seriously, you have to go into shops and hold a racket before you can make any judgement on looks. I lost count of how many rackets I thought looked crap in photos but when you see them in reality you almost buy them on looks alone. I also can't describe how happy I am not to see yet another red racket. If this thing is metallic black-green with lime gold accents, I'd be all over it.
maybe LD have won the last few accounts with LCW.... he give up this game nia? who knows? confidence? becoz of new racket?
Maybe. But at that level, rackets play a miniscule part in winning. It might be the case that LCW won because the lime green gave him confidence, but it's pretty important to note that the player's mental state itself determines his/her success, compared to the rackets.
It is not all that long ago, only 6 years since he last used NS series. And he jumped straight from NS9000S to AT900P so not much to do with training up to it but rather a change of attitude perhaps . Not that it hasn't worked Gosen has a nice string to match already
If the color of your racket influences your play, then I think you are not really playing world top . I'm wondering how soon it'll be available in stores. I think the GAS is starting to kick in. Just when I thougt it was over when I sold my guitars ... .
can tell that this racket is generating quite a stir even before it is released. 15,000+ views on this thread alone in less than a week!
