I'm thinking of picking this up for my wife. She's using one of my old rackets and I want her to have her own racket (not a hand me down). She's more of between beginner and intermediate. And it's lightweight so that might help her. Probably get the 4UG5 version.
THE arc 9fl is available in Taiwan, but not in all store Most I saw was 4U version, but I got both 3U and 4U version.
Sweet. Thanks! I'm fine with the 4U version. I'll be in the Taipei area for a month, so I'll try to look around for it. Do you happen to know any reputable/legitimate badminton stores near there?
Saw this at my local Sports Expert (Bayshore location) for $159.99 and as a RA member, 20% off on top of that... Seems like a good deal for any ladies in the Ottawa region
The Arc9FL is going for CDN$210 at Tad's Sporting Goods in Vancouver. But it's only 3UG4. Apparantly they don't get 4U. Guess I'll have to order through shuttlehouse or something.
No Sport Experts. There is a Sport Chek but I don't think they carry high end badminton rackets. I can probably get it with no tax. Just compared it with mybadmintonstore US$188 + shipping. So it's about the same anyways. But they don't have 4U as well. Was looking for a 4UG5 for my wife as she's petite. And I think the lighter the racket...the better it would be for her.
Just checked shuttlehouse. They have the 4UG5 but damn...it comes out to CDN$220 (after discount of 22%) + shipping. If I really want it...I need to buy a whole lot of stuff to get a better discount and make it worthwhile.
Thanks for the tip. I'm planning on going to Portland in July. Maybe I can pick one up from there (ie. Portland Badminton Club).
Has anyone had the chance to try both the Arcsaber 9FL and Nanospeed 3000? Both are called featherlight by Yonex, but how do they compare with each other?
Both are great racquets. I think the ARC9FL is more for attack and clear. Stiffer is good for a girl who has power to swing it. NS3000 is for the girl who plays up front and more defensive style. Both are easy to turn and fast. NS3000 is just a little too flexible to hit hard and control IMHO.
Tension is a personal preference. Suggest you start at your normal tension and then up it 1-2 lbs each time until you're happy. Good luck.
Thanks ! I have another question , i'm using bg65 with 23lb , its been months and the strings are getting loose? it doesn't sound as nice as before ! Should I restring it with 25 lb ? or try bg80 with 23lb ?
If it's been months...the strings have probably lost it's tension. Again...tension and string type is a personal preference. The only way you will know is to experiment. I used to have 24lbs...then up it to 25lbs...then again up it to 27lbs and have settled on this tension. I'm still in the process of finding a string to stick with. I've tried BG65, BG65ti, BG66UM, BG80, BG80P, BG85, VS650, and VS850. I'll probably try some more before settling on a string.
