    By the way, please

    i) punctuate
    ii) Capitalise
    iii) paragraph

your posts to make them legible (sp?) - long long posts without all the above tend to make people ignore them.

i mean imagine trying to read something like this without punctuating makes it much harder to read causing most people to otherwise ignore it hence whatever point you are looking to put across is ignored totally unless the reader possess a good amount of patience to actually read through them did i mention kkk and tbh beat cy fhf very well yesterday without dropping a single set during this year's all england very impressive lolllll considering that they were just formed last year supposed to be a scratch pair but what a combination i think rexy has been doing very well to bring them up i hope their partnership remains as i think it is not a good idea to keep changing partners will be bad for teamwork that was a long 25 years worth of wait too bad i missed it what time was it on again?!?? but i did watch that semis though and i thought it must be very possible for them to do well if they can keep up the good form that got the danes knocked out defending champions no less up up and away but lets not get carried away complacency and all that did anyone remember hafiz several years ago hopefully with the discipline instilled by the coach things will again brighten up in the malaysia badminton landscape

    technology

i agree with you...most forums that we have contains silly and ridiculous statements and topics...some even have the nerve to post stupid things...anyway, what i would like to call attention to is the use of technology in game officiating...they have it in tennis-the hawkeye, but in badminton its still "poor old linesperson"...badminton can emulate tennis with this technology....but what im afraid is what it will cost!!!! happy reading everyone...

    i second that.......

Another suggestion is that having the user warned before the user is banned forever? I was banned once from BF (another user name) and the chance of lifting the ban is NEVER.

Now looking back, yes i did post some inappropriate posts which has finally induced this ban (but i didnt realise it until i got the ban). I sincerely apologise for those posts if they were offensive to anybody. But wouldnt it be nice if im warned of that situation before it actually happened? I mean what would you do if one day, out of a sudden when you log in and a message appears and says "im sorry that you are banned, ban period=forever".

I think that it is way better to warn before punishing by banning someone.

A temporary ban like 48 or 72hrs before a permanent ban is carried out is good to let the user knows that he has gone overboard.

I have a suggestion for the closing of inappropriate thread or posts that have been moved. Why dont the mod have a preset message to be send to the user's mailbox when his posts/threads are deleted or moved?

That is a good Idea actually. Not sure if the software can add this feature though.

I too hardly bother to read many of the posts these days. I started participating here almost 3 years back. But since then, a lot has changed on this forum. The number of fellow members and posts has increased but the quality has decreased like Bao Chunlai's form. :p

but still the old articles are a good read!!

    Yes. :D;):p

But that does not necessarily constitute an insensible posting.

If I start flying off at the handle at someone, or post a useless thread about "what is the best racquet" then even I would want that thread deleted, there is just no point to it, and the verbal animosity unwarranted.

I have not seen any built-in automatic messaging like that, but its a nice idea.

What I've done, and seen done is just to have mods & admins contact the offending parties directly, as it is more personable, and also if there is any disagreement; people can work them out amicably.
    (well... in most situations:eek:)

    You sure about that mate?

From this I conclude that caffeine should be banned.

Well, some actions warrant an immediate ban.
    Spamming is one example.

Yes, there are other occasions that call for a lesser deterrent.
kwun has incorporated a feature that allows temporary bans.

Thank you for this suggestion :)

I think an extension of the "edit time" would be helpful. It's far more effective to allow people to police themselves than to have other people do it for them. I know of several of my own posts that I would have gladly deleted/altered if given more time to see the light. Maybe other people feel the same way?

You can edit your post if you were to do it immediately after you post.
It wouldn't be practical to allow editing after replies have been posted.

A Insensible Post = Members attacking one another personally

    .
IMHO, an 'Insensible Posting' is a post intended to attack another member personally, instead of talking about the issue.

We all know that we all have different opinions on certain matters.

Why not just state our opinion and leave it as such?
Why do we need to post silly 'insensible and juvenile' things like: 'You are wrong, I am right'?

IMHO, it is best for us to check how many times we use the words "I" and "YOU" when we post.
Based on what was stated above ... Just check on the words "I" and "YOU" when we post.
:D:D:D Oldhand ... Many times, replies are made within the 15 minutes, before our posts are edited.

    BTW, just look at this post;

YA MAN we gotta stop with the "insensible postings"

ITs not rite man, takes away from the integrity of the forums etc etc etc

the WISEDom meter for this website must read ova 9000 or else ppl complAin!

But seriously, this is a public forum available to all internet users, so unless Kwun will take the initiative and time to set up a moderating system, then it is inevitable that posts of all kinds of subjects will occur.

What I see is that, spam and irrelevant topics are unavoidable aspects in ALL public forums. The increasing rate of "insensible postings" only signifies the increasing popularity of the website. Keeping in mind that, as the forum reaches out to a wider popularity, there will certainly be people who do not share the same mindset as most of regular BCers.

If this website is to increase in popularity, then it all comes down to whether the admin will actively invest in a moderating system or limit the accessibility of BC (eg turning it into a private forum), because it is impossible to maintain a popular yet strictly self moderating forum.
