Errr... He lost 2 matches in the final, but w/o him, they may not even past the group matches or semi.

Sure, I can lose 0-21 easily, but lose in 3 rubber sets to the SC champs, do require a bit more skills, I assume. :p

I have to get back to you on this one after I consult the record book. have to admit it's not that easy to top, as to lost 2 out of the 3 points for the team particularly in the final.

    ^^It's not difficult..^^

..don't have to check or consult the record or history book. Just go to tournamentsoftware.com and find out for yourself.

    Absolutely fu/cai.
Always a joy to watch fu/cai win.
They showed that CHN can win matches with pure , honest, world class badminton (without non-badminton tactics that YY and LD need.)

I'd go for LYD too. Perhaps YY if there's a second place.

It's an assumption but I take it, pjswift means the attitude and the whole physiology tactics. Pausing before the final serve, calling a fault without evidence, etc.

Asking for floor to be mopped on opponent's serve to break their momentum.

Why don't they ask for floor to be mopped during their serve?

That's one of their famous tricks.
That's how CHN WD lost to KOR in AE. Jane Hancock saw through YY and did not grant her her floor mopping trick.

If the umpire were not clueless or sleepy and well aware of CHN's tricks, they would have preempted CHN's request by asking for floor to be mopped on CHN's serve.

CHN used to ask for breaks during opponent's serve which is against the rule. Then they get around the rule by asking for the floor to be mopped.

LD did not even have to ask the umpire permission for breaks. He didn't have to. Because he's king.

Talk about the "Evil Empire," right? :p But! Back on topic, I think that many players, non in specific, didn't play to their potential during this whole event. The Surdiman Cup. :O

I only had a feel about that but never really put it down as an act until you said so. I thought it was coincidence that they thought the "wetness" cost them the point hence ask for the mop. Definitely learn something :D:D.

i dont think checks are necessary. to lost 2 out of the 3 points must be the worst one can do for this tournament format. of course, in theory a full house is possible to lost all 3 in MS, MD & XD but i dont believe that been done before. so, if to lost 2 points in a match is the worst one can do, so by definition every tom, **** and harry can emulate LYD by just turn up and lose. cant get any worst, can it?

    But..

..i thought you mentioned every tom, **** and harry can emulate LYD. If you mean so, then show us who the other tom, **** and harry are who is similar to/can emulate LYD??..If you can't bring up any other names, then don't use "every other tom, **** and harry"..

Exactly.. and I wonder why any country even bother with the Surdiman cup. Any Tom, ****, Harry and Moni can just enter the tournament and achieve the same results against China. They should just call their expats currently living in China and give them a chance to represent their country. No need for any expenditures to fly, house and feed the players and a single indemity form will take care of all medical expenses.

On a more reasonable note, I wonder if FHF/CY and ZB/YY will let any set slip when playing against Tom/**** and Harry/Moni.

i was responded to other poster's reference to LYD's 'undeniable' contribution to the final. as i said before you cant get any worst by losing the 2 that you played thus the tom.. reference. for instance LYD's double partner JJS (aka Tom by his closest friends) had not only emulate but surpassed him with only lost 1 point.
