After a couple of attemps, i finally made my own homemade towel grip.. and it seems pretty decent ! Can't wait to try it out... Thanks to whom ever had this amazing idea.. Towel grips in my country (Denmark) are damn expensive - 5-6 $ pr. grip AT LEAST... so saved me a lot of money.. :b
Thank you everyone for your kind words. Has anybody applied step 5 yet? By the way I have not been around for a long time and will very likely not be around much in future either. If you need to get in touch with me, you may contact my close friend, mongoose. I hear that after reading these posts, mongoose practiced hard making his own towel grips until he eventually started his own mini towel grip business!
Hey wukong, thanks for this great idea! Am on the way doing my own tower grip and is wondering if the SAF towel good enough? reuse, reduce and recycle!
one thing i dislike about these towel grips is that they start to smell bad after about two months of regular use
I don´t understand, will the tape be "gluey" when it´s facing the wood? Then u have to use double-faced tape?
in the case of putting on electrical tape/hockey tape, i believe you put the adhesive side on the TOWEL to strengthen the towel. i'm glad you revived this thread too; i would never have thought of doing this myself
Yes no problem, first off you have to synthesise polyurethane i have left the formula below for your ease. Get a length of material stick double sided tape to one side. Pour synthesised polyurethane into spray bottle and spray onto the other side of the said material. I usually knock this together with store cupboard things in the kitchen it's easy
easy i got tons of this stuff lying around my house...we don't have to melt the (probably) solid polyurethane before shaping? interesting.
wow.... u r good...u must b a chemistry scientist....i know nothing about this....thanks for sharing...
Maybe LD made his own towel grip just like how Wukong told us.. Since LD towel grip is super thin, i can't find any towel grip as thin as his...
If you're talking about the LD towel grip he uses with N90, that is slightly thick which is similar to what LN has to offer in its grip product range. For the time when LD was sponsored by YY, the towel grips he used are the AC402 [normal and DX] (JP distribution) which are relatively thin, as I mentioned before, about just as thick as a double layered YY Super Grap.
They should create a strap on towel grip so you can take it off when it hardens and wash it and put it back on. Easier life eh?
